Nice. Pert, and no unsightly flappage. Definitely preferring him over Magnus now.

Also the first masterpiece to be smaller than the original.

It kind of had to be really - if it had been the same size as the original I would have thought it would have been heading into an entirely different realm in terms of pricing. It does look like a lovely, elegant piece of design work I must admit.

Yes, no scrimping with Star Saber, I could be forced to buy one simply to reenact the first comic strip I did for TMUK.

A primer then on the subject of Star Saber: see tfwiki.net/wiki/Star_Saber_(Victory) for more If you were into TFs during the 90s you may have got wind of him. The Victory range, released in 1989, was the first year which completely deviated from western toy lines, and Star Saber is the Autobot Leader figure from that year - if you look he's got a red double panelled chest and blue faceplated helmet, which are callbacks to Optimus Prime. As a toy he's essentially Powermaster Prime, but done with jets. Jets that also combine with a lion..... The Star Saber jet is also red & white so that pushes the upgraded Jetfire button. Even though he isn't. Officially.... As a character the TMUK did some VERY interesting things with him which is somewhat reflected in hisMore Than Meets The Eye portrayal. So many are comIng to Star Saber absolutely fresh and are judging it just on looks, which are good, and it "stealing" the place of a G1 car which they MUST HAVE NOW. But for most of the fans here it's a must have toy. As I suspect it is or many Japanese fans who the toy is being marketed towards. Phil needs Star Saber.

Makes the disembodied head sat on top of the "hoverboard" look pretty bad (pretty sure on earlier pics I commented how they'd made it integrate a bit better?). I know it was part of the original and thus made it into other media representations, but I'd like the designers to correct poor design decisions from the past.
I doubt my Star Sabre shall be in alt mode very much anyway, so y'know, not really bothered.

Your GodMod loves you all so much that he's been back through this thread and changed all the twitter links so they A) show a photo (some of the shortened ones didn't) and B) have a link to the photo for those using a device that the pictures don't show up on.

Ta Phil!
I have to say I don't mind the head-turret on the sled part - it isn't as if it is particularly aerodynamic anyway, and it gives him a bit more in the way of flexible targeting options in an aerial battle (which he is going to need because he does look rather like he comes from the same "go high, go fast" as the F-104 rather than the "turn, turn, turn" school of knife-fighters like the Gripen). I've always thought of Leozack as being much more agile in the air that Star Saber in his combined form, but Saber having a distinct firepower advantage.

Frighteningly, "Saber Angels" could very easily be a TV show or Comic title and not an eyelid would be blinked.
