I think the nice thing about some of my other hobbies being quite expensive is I am used to looking at lovely pictures of things I know I will never be able to afford. (Arcadia's release schedule, along with their price points (any one of their releases a year would cost me the equivalent of 2/3rds an AA accommodation cost). I quite enjoy looking at this sort of stuff, and don't really get pangs when I decide "would like, can't afford).

I heard the other day thay the Concert Hall steps (a local treasure by all accounts) are under threat. This can't be a coincidence...
I just hope it is Stardub Saber who turns up and not TMUK Saber!

Glasgow City Centre is a hole. Those steps are among the few pleasant features. Which twat decided to get rid of them?

They're removing the steps up to the Concert Hall? What the hell are they replacing them with? We must summon the Victory Combination to head down to the City Chambers and give the place a shake till they come to their senses!

They are replacing them with more of Buchanan Galleries, which will expand to fill that space, and have doors at the ground level which they describe as "improved disabled access". So the short answer to the question is, "additional retail consumption outlets".
I will miss those steps once they demolish them. They are one of the few attractive features in a city centre that is evenly divided between shining towers of excess consumption and the decaying hulk of urban deprivation. So of course they have to go.
