And a mini Blaster and cassettes! I like this set. Box art colouring by Mr Bove, I'm reliably informed.

The repainted VAMP is great - the Hound colours suit it nicely, and I do like the Skystriker with the boosters on. Decent paint schemes and quite fun those are. Karl

Harmony Gold sues Hasbro over SDCC Jetfire For real.Harmony Gold want all revenue Hasbro gained from the sale of their GI Joe SDCC exclusive Jetfire, as well as "exemplary damages in an amount sufficient to punish and make a public example of Hasbro, and deter wrongful conduct in future", and they want all of the Jetfires that have been sold recalled and sent to them along with any unsold ones. Well, stuff like this explains how they can still be in business after all these years of producing nothing. On the bright side, their license is up for renewal... in 2021. -Nick

It seems FP somehow acquired some or all the excess stock of these and are supposed to selling via a raffle at a $50 mark up (plus their own crazy shipping prices). So on the one hand I laugh at Harmony Gold, but on the other the idea of FP with a mountain of these that that they cant sell or worse have to send to HG makes me smile.

I suspect everyone who queued up to get these at SDCC after months of hype will not be best pleased (or the slightest bit compliant) if Harmony Gold succeeds.

I severely doubt that this is going to go to court. The lawyers will get together, Harmony Gold will get some money which rumours say that they desperately need and the world will keep on turning. Is the SDCC Jetfire close enough to violate HG's exclusive US rights to merchandising from the original SDF Macross series? Possibly, possibly not. They might be able to make a case if it ever got in front of a judge, but Hasbro has the muscle to get enough legal talent to keep it out of court until HG can no longer afford to contest it. Assuming that the owners of HG don't hit up their mate Silvio for some help. Although they'd probably prefer to avoid bringing that connection back up in a hurry. :-)

I'm not sure that even a Bunga Bunga party can help HG with this one.

How exactly do HG realistically expecting a recall to actually work?? Madness.

I suppose its so in the event they win and Hasbro can't get them back they have to pay out even more money.

How exactly do HG realistically expecting a recall to actually work?? Madness. They don't. It is in there so it can be negotiated away as part of the dickering behind the scenes to settle the lawsuit out of court. I think this whole lawsuit is a way of using the IP rights that they own to earn one revenue -bearing in mind that they have proved to be fairly ineffective at doing so by actually releasing products. It makes me laugh to see them being so recall-happy, considering how tardy they were at offering refunds when one of their most recent high-priced robotech merchandise items proved to be distinctly defective (see Pink Shadow Fighter Debacle, The). Harmony Gold is a case study on the absurdity of "intellectual property rights". They have ruined the fun for Macross fans for decades, and now they apparently want to expand their crappy reputation to TF and Joe fans as well.
I hope Hasbro pays them zero and bleeds them on legal fees.
