www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1613777167/Collects Spotlights for Orion Pax, Thundercracker, Megatron, Bumblebee, Trailcutter, and Hoist So basically all the spotlight comics that should have come with the first two waves of Generations toys that are missing on their UK release. Some decent Roche & Roberts action in there.

I see. I am behind on RID and MTMTE and will catch up later in the year when the budget allows. Would this trade be readable on its own or should I catch up on those series first to be able to follow it?

Should be fairly readable on its own. Several are stand-alone flashback stories an two of them are connected side-stories set during the timeframe of MTME but I don't think they really reference the main plot.

I have now seen it. It does indeed have the comics that were supposed to be packed in with the *%^*€$$$* toys.

Got it out the library. A decent read and far better than what I expected for what was a collection of pack-in comics. Unclear what it is a prelude to though! The book does not say.
My only criticism was that I felt the Megatron story would have worked better as a tight 11 pager but generally a very enjoyable book.

It's a loose prelude to Dark Cybertron. Work out what connects the stories.

I picked up an American Trailcutter at Memorabilia and the Spotlight explained a lot- introducing Lockdown's Decepticons and their hunt for Titans. After reading through all of MTMTE again I am jonesing for more and this fits the bill nicely. I wonder if Nostalgia has any in stock!

It's a loose prelude to Dark Cybertron. Work out what connects the stories. Then why isn't it called Dark Cybertron Prelude? Or have any mention anywhere in it of what to get to follow what happens next? IDW need to get a grip, sometimes. -Ralph

While they have got a far better grip than they once had, I still really really hate crossover events in comics nowadays, especially when they just make everything going on stop
