I am skeptically optimistic. optimistic because up until now hasbro has been treating beast wars as some massive mistake and a blight on tf history.so this is a nice change of pace.
skeptical because "beast hunters" no sooner means a new beast era than "robots in disguise" ment a return to the real rid. this could be stealing beast era's monacre the way idw and hasbro stole rid's monacre for a comic and a toyline that had nothing to do with with it.
also, hasbro hasnt done anything ive liked since they killed animated and classics. no reason to believe this will be any different based on a mysterious name alone. for all we know, this is "transformers prime: beast hunters" in which its team prime verses monster form decepticons, like those ruddy insecticons.

The only problem I have with Robots In Disguise being reused is that it makes googling the Prime toyline and the IDW comic a bit more tricky than it needs to be, them being composed of such overloaded terms.
I don't get the feeling Hasbro is at all embarrassed by the Beast series, just that they know right now (or for the past few years at least) the money is in the vehicle stuff. They gave us two BW characters in Universe and have hinted that they'd like to do more, especially Rhinox, for years. I rather suspect that they are actually BW fans and are just waiting for the right moment to cycle that theme back in.
Hopefully that is coming now!

It's a good time to bring back beasts. Children that were fans of Beast Wars are now young adults, so there will now be the same combination of nostalgia and disposable income that fuelled the revival of Transformers 10-15 years ago.
There was someone at my AA stall that said, "Claw Jaw! I used to have him when I was a kid!" (Yes, it did make me feel old.)
Also, sales of vehicle-based toys have declined, so the brand needs a new direction to refresh it, especially with another film on the way, which could otherwise risk being stale, with even lower accompanying sales.

I think it is meant to be a stab at having it turn into Unicrons' decapitated head from the end of Transformers:The Movie.... But that would mean that Unicron transforms into his own head, which is ludicrously recursive.
I am presuming that is what it is meant to be, although in practice it is a pile of humanoid parts folded up into a pile with Movie Unicron's head stamped on it. Not even tempted by that for a second.

I haven't seen series 2 of Prime yet, but in series 1 Unicron appears and is able to take shape from large pieces of rock/earth - looks like this represents his face appearing on a mountain/volcano then taking a robot/humanoid form too.
