So this project is shaping up nicely except for above-mentioned, fly in the ointment. Try as I might, I cannot shake the utter disdain I have for Stranglehold's shell. It's not even the tash but rather the horrible proportions and general character that remind me of some nightmarish MOTU-TF cross-over (He-Manimus Prime Vs Skegatron anyone?). As a result, I am looking to scratch-build a Stranglehold from some sort of cyborg gladiator / mech toy. I would consider using the head from Stranglehold but I don't have the toy in-hand for feasibility. I'd also consider any alternative for his main form, with an eye on MMC's Fortis as the top runner. Obviously, any shell would have to accommodate that figure so I'm looking towards model kits which have more potential for internal room and customisation. the fact that the shell doesn't need to transform makes it a lot easier for me to bring my GW-honed skills to bare. Any ideas? I'm kinda struggling on even a basic start point.

I feel I need to say sorry for even suggesting this, but if you are planning a large inner robot perhaps those awful optimus and bumblebee things might be seeviceable as the start of a shell. I get the impression they are quite thin, but I dont know, someone eventually has to find a use for at least one of them.

Phew! That's at tough one. Stranglehold has always been a strange one. On the one hand his outer shell is wonderfully unique, on the other, yes, it looks bizzar! No idea about how to make a shell, or how to make it look good. But a Fortis in the right colours is an excellent idea. I adore my Bludgeon (the Movie voyager with the 3P head). I love the merging of shell and inner-robot alt mode. Fortis in the right colours could look the part. Aaaaand.... maybe the tash could be done like a Scourge style facial feature. Stranglehold may need to retain his tash.....

What are you talking about, Stranglehold is perfect! He is literally Sean Connery as Zardoz. Everyone loves Zardoz.

I wish I was still asleep. Even nightmares would be preferable to this abhorrent reality!

This is even better than finding out Pretender Grimlock's shell is Nixon!

I had never realised that Stranglehold is Connery in Zardoz! Amazing. It is so obvious now, from the costume to the face. That really is Sean! -Ralph

Have you not seen the exciting motion picture experience that is Zardoz? The pinnacle of Shaun Canary's career?

Oddly I don't think this is the only TF inspired by that film.....

Zardoz really is a great movie. My friend and I rented it once while on a bad movie quest... Because, Hello... Sean Connery in a diaper. How could we turn that away? But we were surprised. Anyone who enjoys the 70s sci fi era where they told stories, and tried to be deep, owes it to themselves to watch Zardoz.

Zardoz will be exposed for my wife and myself tonight. She has no idea it's coming...
Is it a popcorn or nachos movie?

It is one of the most bonkers films I have ever seen. I first caught it many years ago late at night on Channel 4 long before the internet so I was completely unprepared!
