I'd love to see proper interviews with TF toy designers talking about their craft rather than bland sales pitches.

Indeed, for all Hasbro's "we love our fans!" talk at least Takara put their money where their mouth is with the Generations books and otherwise-distributed interviews.
I guess it's at least partly cultural with adult toy collectors not quite so accepted in the West, but it doesn't seem like it would cost Hasbro much to at least let their designers be interviewed. Even the Club rarely gets that privilege!

And when the club does, their interviews are usually as fluffy as cotton candy.
It would be cool of Hasbro to document every (non industry secret) step of the development of a toy. From pure concept, to concept art, to all the revisions, deco choices and reasons they may sacrifice deco details, to legal issues it may have with a name not passing. And then release this info to the club for a multipart story, once hasbro announces the toy, and it's no longer a secret.
Maybe that's too much, but I'd find that way more interesting than any interview. More insightful too.

I'd also like an insight into the creative process too but I'd be more interested to see how design has evolved from what were effectively trial-and-error chop-ups of existing toys to the current computer-generated systems and mechanics. Development diaries are very common in the games industry so there's plenty of different formats they could take their cue from.
