I dont think its quite that bad. Apparently Charlie Cox has the same movie option in his contract, its not saying they will be in a movie just that the details have already been worked out if they do. So I wouldnt say Palickis getting screwed there. The spin off not going forward is a bit harsh but is the sort of thing that happens, I'm sure the story will be address in Shield now instead and as Shield was probably only renewed for syndication purposes its probably its last year anyway so she and thingy are only missing out on a relatively short steady gig.
I'm actually happy that they cut out the B list MCU appearances, fun as they are only Furys season 1 appearance felt like the show was getting properly involved.
But I agree putting Shield cast in the movies is not nearly as difficult as they sometimes make out. Fair enough Couson reappearing would require at least some comment which might distract from the rest of the scene. But when it could literally be boiled down to "I'm alive. Fury lied" I dont think its that difficult, plus the movies arent the same without him.
As for the rest, I cant understand why any generic shield agent on board the helicarrier in AOU couldnt be played by one of the cast. They dont need a large role, but just their presence helps sell the whole one big shared universe.

Regarding the helicarrier, aye. Especially a cameo by FitzSimmons. Just a quick joke line from Fury shouting through the intercom "Fitz! Simmons! The Director talked you up, don't let me down!" as it cuts to them running around trying to solve the problem of the falling island, or the ultron legion, or whatever.
Oneshot would be a good way to increase the connectivity too. While they were filming AoU, make a quick oneshot short set after, of Daisy trying to talk Wanda into joining her team.

Been renewed for season 5. Which is really good news based on season 4.
They've gone with 3 story arcs this year which has kept the show more focussed. Ghost Rider was great in the first and the second two have been entertaining.
I'm guessing the renewal is due to a couple of factors. The show moved to a later timeslot generally a place of lower ratings, but the show has more or less kept its audience. Second, season 5 will contain the shows 100th episode. Third, just a guess but with Inhumans starting this year ABC might want to take advantage of the MCU shared universe and actually feature a crossover.
But whatever. Season 5 woohoo!

Only three episodes in, but this season has so far been steller. Mac has been almost as great as John Diggle (Arrow) when he has to deal with meta humans.

Seasons 2-4 are currently in Amazon Prime. Finally catching up from where I left off when Hive arrived. Nearly up to end of season 4 now.

Not a plot related spoiler, and really gives nothing plot related away, but click at your own risk anyway- It's really nice (and unexpected) that they sorta admitted May and Coulson are the Mom and Dad of the group!

Finally, finally watching the final season. Got a couple of episodes left but holy cow they are going out all guns blazing. This is fantastic stuff. UK distribution has bee nso bad that I can go ages without thinking about it, but barring one or two seasons Shield has been my favourite show of the last decade.
I was saying on Saturday that this show is the comic book tv show that most captures the spirit of reading a comic. They'll do a 6 episode arc set in space, arrive home afterwards only for a sea serpant to pop out of a sewer and drag one of them off to its lair.
This final season is doing some thing almost like Wandavision and its brilliant.
Torn between wanting to charge through to the end and stretching the last few out.
