Just a quick one for people with greater knowledge than I... I have the bells and whistles version of Skyrim and it came with Alduin sat on his magical dragon wall. As I've just stood up a new display cabinet, I'd really like to recreate the image but instead of having Alduin on there, have Predaking instead (beaming smiles when I realised it). My question is, which Predaking should I use as there appears to a couple to choose from? It's gotta be quite large as Alduin's about 12" long but other than that, I'm open to suggestion. Obviously, I'd like the best looking dragon mode but I'd even be tempted to re-paint him in Skyrim colours if needs be. The main forerunners are the upscaled Cyberverse Predaking for the grey and Beast Fire Predaking for the fiery nastiness.

In terms of a display piece those are the only two that would come anywhere close to 12 inches. If you look on youtube you'll find videos comparing them. In robot mode they're very similar in size, but as you want a dragon I'd say the Beast Fire one has more bulk to it in terms of just size, because it has much larger wings. Beast Fire also has better construction because it is a premium toy, in dragon mode the new voyager has hollow areas - most obviously the legs at the front. However the new one has more refined paint apps and is more striking to look at, Beast Fire can look like a black mass, so it really is a personal preference thing. If you're going to repaint yourself I'd go for Beast Fire as he is supposed to be the showpiece of the range.
By coincidence I just got Cryofire Predaking today through the post, which is I think a really nice blue repaint of the original Voyager in the Predacons Rising line that didn't come out here. I wouldn't recommend him for what you want though as he is obviously the original Voyager figure, and the new one really is much better. I just fancied a blue Predaking to go with Dark Steel and Sky Lynx. It's like Predaking doing a Batman impression.

Well after posting this I found myself passing Tesco's and in need of some supplies. I just happened to pass through the toy isle and spotted the upscaled Voyager Predaking. At £22 it was pure impulse that made me buy it. however, in my second win from Tesco, I got to the checkout and it passed through at £11! There was nothing up to suggest it was half price so I can only assume I've jumped the gun and bagged something that will very soon be reduced. The figure himself is exactly as you describe pinwig: Solid, quite big but massively lacking in articulation and detail. The transparent parts bring the light out nicely but the lack of movable neck or openable mouth have reminded me why I stayed away from the rest of the series.
With what you've said about Beast Fire, it definitely sounds like the better choice. It's a good job I'm in eBay mode at the moment, as today's purchase will be there in the next wave of auctions...

Makes me smile though at any rate. I put just shy of 200 hours into Skyrim, adore it.

It was the only game I could get working on my laptop in Afghanistan so at the end of every 16-hour day, I would treat myself to an hour's roaming before I hit the sack - trust me, you need something to make you switch off! I'd already built a level 60 Khajiit on my Xbox 360 so I went a different route and made a fun strong Nord female. didn't matter how hard I tried though, I always ended up going stealthy...
