Was AoE the line where all the Generationsesque toys were TRU exclusives in the UK and it was all kiddy stuff elsewhere?

Hmmm. No idea why there wasn't a specific AOE thread, I've just merged the two threads related to the topic and bumped it. That exclusive pack was fab, and such good value. It was also blink and you miss it. Did you get the one with the Energon Dinobot or BW Terrorsaur repaints in? No I didn't get those, it was the BW figure that drew my attention and I have an original Terrorsaur still. |

I reckon the evolution Prime, the voyager with the G1 alt mode, is better than the Studio Series equivalents AND it came with a nicely done classics Prime. |

The Strafe pack is superb, that's my Beast Wars Swoop. We'll be looking at the original of that mould and his Predacon chums on Friday in the poll.
The Grimlock is OK.... but it's nothing special.
Purple Guiledart is AMAZING. I think I own that mould, or variants thereof, 5 times - just the RiD Dinobot missing.

Yep, I picked up that Guiledart/Slug and Stinger two-pack also. That was my first year in Glasgow, and I cycled all over the town trying to find an Asda that had it... finally discovering it in the one closest to home. Because of course I did. Still, I learned a lot about the city that day, so it was worth it. And those two-packs were only £8, which was an utter bargain.
So yeah, most of the Generations-type-stuff was TRU-only, from what I recall, except those two-packs, which were in Asda, and Tesco which had a two pack of the WFC-Grimlock repainted in G1 colours, and the DotM Deluxe Prime in silver chrome.

I loved that FoC Grimlock mould. I've got that set with the G1 coloured version, but also the original one pimped out with 3P accessory sets and reprolabels, plus the Takara Fireblast version and the remould used for RiD 2015 Grimlock. That said, the Planet X version takes that design and turns it up to 11.
