Finished. Every episode watched, every commentary listened to. The documentary has been watched, the photo galleries have been watched I have got every last drop of goodness out this set. Probably one of the best DVD releases ever.
Would love it if some more series 2 & 3 was one day recovered.

I am on the last disc myself - half of a recon, one episode, one commentary and a doco to go. I have to say that I am not enjoying Series 4 anywhere near as much as the first three series. The shift to "generic-third-tier-anthology-style ghost stories" doesn't do the series any favours really.
I also found some of the implications made in "To lay a ghost" a little bit...uncomfortable...for a number of reasons. This did set me off of the wrong foot with the Series a bit. What did surprise me was how much I liked the John Wiles story on a rewatch - a switch of genre back to Science Fiction which managed to mix a "how can you be sure of what you think is real" with a critique of some elements of military training policy which if anything have become more relevant in some quarters now than they were then. A good script, quite well directed I thought.
I will say, that this series qualifies as my "rental of the year" for 2014 in terms of the amount that I have got out of it.

My concentration is too shit these days to be able to concentrate on grim dark telly so I have put this set to one side for now. What I saw of it was very well done but it's too grim for my moods these days. I'll come back to it at some point.

Meant to say, this DVD set dropped to £27 on Amazon before Christmas. I've had it on my wish list since it came out so stuck it on my Christmas list and ended up getting it from Mum and Dad. Winter evening watching awaits!

You won't regret it, one of my favourite DVD purchases ever.
I'd watch the Machine Stops, Level 7, Tunnel Under The World and The Last Lonely Man first. Then go back to s1 which can be a bit variable, especially the first episode. But there's some real gems in there too.

I think we've all lived in the world of 'The Machine Stops' since 2020.

Radio version was ok. Lacks the chilling horror of the OOTU version though. -Ralph

Out of the Unknown absolutely did that justice. Was probably more disturbing watching that adaptation than it was reading the original story back in high school. One of the high points of UK SF TV in general, not just OOTU.
