This is for the comics, toys & cartoon. Going by each year for the first 30 years only 1984-2003. Is there anything for each year you would have liked to have been different. If its a different line up for 1984 with it not being Autobot heavy, could the Constructicons have been introduced then. Or having the Dinobots show up in 1985 - would they have been better if they showed up in 1986 when the toys where being new & not repaints? This does effect the comic with Dinobots being a main story arc in 1985.
1993 - 1995 Should G2 comic & toys have happened? It might have been best if it didn't happen then more time would have been spend setting up Beast Wars. But we might have got another 2 years worth of toys for europe only like we had already. So toys like rotor force would have still turned up following on from turbomasters. We got Pyro etc before G2 happened. So we would still have all these UK only characters - it would mean the US had no toy line from 91-96. Also this would save on the endless renames of charcaters during G2 & Laserrod Optimus Prime would be UK only toy.

On a toy front - what could the next year of gold box classic have been. We've been told the mold for Wheekjack is broken but where did Hasbro Europe get the Wheeljack toys from? Was the mold broken when they where making the Classics toys?
The one thing with having no G2 would be no Jhiaxus, but he could have been brought in later on.
2002 - should IDW have gone for the comics first?

1986 / 1987 for & against point. The delay in the release of Rodimus Prime & Wreck-gar. Both would have been top toys for xmas 1986 with being in the just released movie. that's the against but for the delay - we might not have had such a great story in May 1987 if we had all got bored with Rodimus being brick like & Wreck-gar's tyre coming off when transforming him.

You're talking rubbish Pete: I walked out of the film and into Zodiac toys where I bought Rodimus. They were out in time for the Movie release at Christmas

I can't remember seeing the adverts for Rodimus until into 87. It was a bit before I saw anyother Movie toys in my area - was mainly just Ultra Magnus, Galvatron, Cyclonus, Scourge, Kup, Blurr, Hotrod, Tracks, Prowl, Thrust, Dirge & combiners [Greens at Gainsborough did have Megatron in march 87]

Rodimus and Wreck-Gar were released late 86. They're not on the UK catalogues for that year but they were out when the Movie was.

How's these to be going on with?
I'd make the Constructicons & Stunticons Autobots & Aerialbots Decepticons: I think they fit the opposing sides themes better.
I'd make Sunstreaker in Red as Sideswipe and Sideswipe in Yellow as Susntreaker as the tech specs describe them.
I'd swap Battletrap & Flywheels names: they better match the other TFs.
I'd have made Micromasters smaller versions of earlier TF characters: Hasbro realised the value of their existing character base just a couple of years too late.
I'd incorporate the Japanese larger and combining robot designs into the Micromaster line.
I'd more heavily advertised the interconnectedness off the Micromaster bases.
I'd release Ginrai as PM Prime and beefed up the arm articulation.
I'd keep the gold box classic line going.
I'd have kept European control of the Euro line when G2 came out. Europe was turning out good stuff and G2 interrupted that.
I'd have released the Autobot Motorvators & 92 Euro Constructicons with their combing parts.
I'd have released all six members of Leo Kaiser in the UK with their combining parts, effectively just the head.
I'd have made sure every toy with a heavy cartoon presence got a UK release, giving them priority over toys that didn't.

I agree with the G2 - we could ahve continued with the G1.5 line which mainly was G2 US reused toys after thay had been out here for 2 years. That's why I feel we might have been better if G2 never happened.
Leo kaiser - would you have them as cons? I think Hasbro did them as bots was because they had just released the monster pretenders & Constructicons. Tote could have been Ironhide, Highjump - trailbreaker, Swindler - sunstreaker.
I'm going by when I saw the toys also in the shops. The shop with the biggest toy area being Toymaster in Greens at Gainsborough . But also covering Woolworths - Gainsborough, Ashby, Scunthorpe. Toymaster - Ashby/Scunthorpe & Co-op chemist Scunthorpe which had a lower ground floor that they later closed due to fire risk that was full of prams & toys. I know I saw headmasters before I first saw Rodmius in box. [before posting I did search on released dates but only could find world release date 1986 for Rodimus] Also was there a shortage of Rodimus & Wreck-gar toys [that would explain why it was so long before I saw them in the shops] Also add to my list of toy shops I checked back in 87/88 time - Filey 2 newsagents on the first road after you get up the hill. One having Jetfire in & the other where I got Octopunch from] Woolworths at Bridlington & Scarborough & Toymaster at Scarb too.

This is something not Transformers related & also soesn't effect IDW comics because they are dated the month they come out. But Marvel/Titan/Panini. Comics out july 2014 are dated Sept2014 - while Titan/Panini will be dated August 2014. This all started when TFUK #109,110 where out the same week.

Stunticons would be the Race car patrol but how you would do Motormaster? At least you can use all the names & repaint all the characters. You could have all the teams repainted a few times.
Stuntibots - roadhandler/deadend freewheeler/breakdown swindler/wildrider tailgate/dragstrip /motormaster
Then you have the characters set up for becoming micromasters.
Defense force - hotspot/redhot streetwise/stakeout firstaid/fixit blades/seawatch groove/
You can also remold Grooves rear weapons to make another Afterburner toy

On a toy front & comment on a video showing the TF4 toys. About the new soft plastic they are using [thats really cheaper plastic but the toys are selling at the same price] - Hasbro should have come up with this new plastic back in 2007 & used it for Animated. I've not had hold of any AOE toy so don't know how different it feels.

Toy/comic one. With having headmasters & targetmasters for 2 years & pretenders for 2 years. We only had Powermasters for 1 year [but still on sale over 3yrs] {note this isn't counting Doubledealer who was release on his own} I always wanted a 2nd year powermaster line this would have used Overlord & then include Doubledealer in a full sub line & also have some new characters for 1989.
