I've been in love with Trash-Talk since he arrived and I've been waiting patiently for my PoL to grow to sufficient size before I shipped it out. Within it was Swerve. Now I have both together, I can offer an honest opinion on the two.
(Even if you don't sit through the whole vid, I recommend the last 3 minutes for a short, well-themed gallery)

Good comparison video.
I very nearly bought Trashtalk, mostly for Cogz, but am really glad I didn't now. The Hasbro sculpt looks far better (especially the head) and the body hasn't been bulked up.
I would love the extra articulation on the head and rotation on the legs. Foot articulation would have been nice too but I never like the way the separate foot piece looks on characters with big block legs. And of course a my first blaster instead of flanker or even better if flanker gun mode had been made to look like the my first blaster.
But end of day if I have to choose between my preferred sculpt and my preferred level of articulation, sculpt is going to win more often than not, especially when its that spot on. The money saving is a bonus too and I've been able to pick up a second Swerve to have a go at adding the missing articulation which is a lot easier than changing large parts of the Trashtalk sculpt.
Just to be wonderfully annoying, I'm not a fan of the gears head sculpt Hasbro have done for Gears so I'm still considering picking up one of the third party sets still.
When you started transforming Trashtalk I suddenly thought the mould with a little modification would make a great Micromaster Countdown.
