I didn't know what forum to put this in.
I've been thinking on this for a few days now. With all the work I've done for Nick, and being the stopping point for the TFCC subservice last year, to odds and ends I've picked up to help people out...
Why don't we start a "buyers club?" I either volunteer my mailing address, or acquire an additional PO box for the board. You guys who "join up" use my/this address for anything this side of the pond you want. Ebay, web stores, BBTS PoL, what have you. I then sit on these until enough has arrived to send off in bulk to a volunteer over there, who can disseminate the items to their owners. (I would include an inventory sheet of what belongs to whom)
This is just a very base idea that needs refinement. I figured it wouldn't hurt to offer it up for discussion.

It's definitely got some merit to it.

I think maybe I put this in the wrong forum

That's a really kind offer, CJ, thank you. I'm in, although I don't buy much these days.

It is indeed a kind offer. I'm not too knowledgeable about international postage so I don't know what kind of saving we're talking about. Has anyone done this before? I'm also wondering how this sits with Credit Card providers - can you buy stuff and have it shipped to a US address? do they allow that? mine set off alarm bells when I tried to use it on BBTS and Amazon when I was trying to ship to myself, would it get blocked outright if I was trying to ship to a US address?
If, hypothetically, the SDCC Dinos stayed on Hasbro toyshop for more than 20 seconds (no idea, will they? hard to know) and I could ship them to CJ to get sent over here, that would be a massive, massive smile on my face for sure.

This sounds like a great idea. As I mostly buy from BBTS and eBay internationally, it would likely save me a stack of money...

Assuming I ever had the money to buy anything I'd be down for that. Seems like a grand idea!

It's a shame that this idea wasn't suggested when all the MP Grimlocks were showing up at Toys R Us for $60. You could have purchased 3 for a couple of pounds more than it will cost for one if/when he comes out in the UK.

MP 10 is the only MP i've had trouble finding. I saw only one of him and he was broken.
All the others I've found with only minor difficulty, given there's only one TRU even remotely near me.

Definitely up for Sunstorm when he reaches clearance because it doesn't look like he's coming out here.
What is the benefit in a system like this? Less chance of import tax?

From what I can tell, the benefit is less cost overall on shipping. Two items may cost twenty bucks each to ship separately, but combined may only cost thirty. Nick and Andy can say more about that, than me.
Like I said in the original post, there's a lot to discuss and iron out.
As per the sunstorm, i'll keep my eye out, but i doubt he'll hit clearance.

Yeah the main advantage, well the two main advantages are combined shipping being less per item and theres only one customs charge. You might save a little on the VAT too if Jetty rounds down a little. Admittedly UK postage and extra time while being stored with Jetty mean it might not be right for every purchase. When Amazon have TF sales it's probably better to order directly and not pay any customs. But other times it makes a lot of sense, especially for bigger items and if its just before a group meet up or AA even better.
