I know it ain't the books, but today I picked up the first, second and third series of the 90's X-Men cartoon in their entirety (plus disc one of series four) all for a tenner. There is a shop here called That's Entertainmentwhich does cheap as chipd CDs DVDs and Games... all new. These were in box sets of three volumes, and the offer was three sets for a tenner. Next week I may go back for the Hulk, Fantastic Four and Spider-Man "2000" sets... even though I know at least two of them are rubbish.

Picked up the last couple of the Panini newsstand title to read 'Nation X'. For 3 issues at a time it reads ok if nothing brilliant. I think it would have died an issue a month though. Greg Porn's art hurts it a lot too.

There's an article somewhere criticising his drawing of Hope Summers as a 25 year old model..... and I can't find it.
£3 for the Panini editions is a steal.

You may remember this from a few years ago: Wolverine: Weapon X Files showed up today in a cash in to the film way. Usual stuff.... ... but I must pass comment on the Wolverine entry. Danial Way has widdled all over Wolverine's continuity by the look of this revised entry. He may have been trying to add some coherancy but the X-Men already have two long lived manipulative vilains that would seem to fit the role Romulus plays. And what's the point of making Logan & James *Hudson* cousins ?? ?? (yes you read that right - Wolverine is Guardian's cousin) I now give you the latest f***ing with Wolverine's back story: goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2011/09/28/2011-top-marvel-characters-4/Meanwhile, Wolverine is going through some torment in his ongoing series by the great Jason Aaron. A mysterious group seeking revenge on Wolverine for murdering people close to them set a trap for Wolverine and caused him to kill a number of their footsoldiers to get to them. Once he arrived, they had all killed themselves (okay, almost all) but had left him a message. The foot soldiers he had killed? They were all children of his that he didn't know about. Holy Eric Cartman! Right, people? Awesomely messed up. So Wolverine is dealing with some stuff over in that book (he also has a new "normal" girlfriend that is interesting to see him interact with). Bwah ? So he's fathered all these children never new about them and now they've been recruited by the same evil organisation Come on Marvel!

I got these - i just need the last 3 volumes for X-men to have the complete series [4.2, 5.1, 5.2] & Spiderman 5000 v4 OSM series 3 v1,2. Do I want the dreadful Ironman 96 on dvd? only if it comes with series 2 & the 60's one to make it worth while - i'll have to find that ult collection. Then pick up Wolverine & x-men completed series. Just need X-menE series box sets.

Does this fit in with the Romulus and Daken bollocks? Daken helped the organisation find the children, so probably. Wolverine is now off burying the kids with their mothers and having a little cry over the whole thing. The other Wolverine title [Best There Is] is equally trite. I'd have thought Wolverine knew they were his kids from their smell or something, maybe the whole remembering-everything-House-of-M dealio that made him remember Daken would've jogged some knowledge of them.

Feels like the X-titles might be getting back on track now. At long last! In a way, but they really need to cut the number of X-Men titles back to just "Uncanny" and "Wolverine and." Astonishing only existed for superstar writers who couldn't get out a monthly book but could bring in high sales, which is no longer the case with writers like Way and Asmus. X-Men is a pointless title that wasn't needed and has yet to have a decent issue. X-Men Legacy has been decent enough under Carey, but was mainly used to fix other people's continuity errors and move characters into place for other titles. Still, Gage takes over from Carey in a couple of issues and he's done some good stuff so hopefully it'll be readable.

I agree about the satellite titles, they need to be culled.

I'm planning on either the trades, or when Marvel get it on the app. Loved the preview art I have seen for Uncanny X-Force and bringing A Nightcrawler back gets my vote. PAD is always good value on X-Factor.

Marvel did this c 2000 when bankruptcy loomed but they've exploded again since. Defo, X-Force has been a great read of late, and X-Factor's always good. I'm getting X-Force & Factor in floppies, but Force has been edging towards the drop zone as it's not doing it for me. UXM & WXM I assume will get Essentialled by Panini in time. I'm planning on either the trades, or when Marvel get it on the app. Loved the preview art I have seen for Uncanny X-Force and bringing A Nightcrawler back gets my vote. PAD is always good value on X-Factor. Andy THE Nightcrawler, de-Austined by having been held in another dimension for years and replaced by a duplicate, would be better

Uncanny X-Men issue 1 was pretty good stuff from McKelvie and Pacheco. The two main x books having a defined purpose and an energy to them.
Snagged the first four issues of Uncanny X-Force yesterday. Cracking stuff.

Read UXM 1 as well as Regenesis and UXM 544 plus a bonus copy of XMen 20 that a certain croydon based comic firm sent me by mistake.
Yeah UXM Works. Not quite as well as W&tXM does but....
The future splash page at the end end of UXM: are those High Evoloutionary troops from the Evoloutionary war I see?
