THE TITAN SCALE.


They're surely not going to do many more new molds in this size, are they?


Assuming they're going to do two more, which characters deserve the Titan Size treatment?


I'm going with Scorponok suiting the leader-class more, but I can see them trying to force a Scorponok out of an existing mold, which I can't imagine being all that welcome.


Characters I'd wish for are: Omega Supreme and Unicron. A heavy retool of Unicron may give a Primus. Omega's a stand-alone (unless they do him in blue...). I can see both characters being very popular though.

Unicron and Primus I think are the most likely from the 'the next one isn't from the previous fan vote but it's something you'll like' comment made by Hasbro at Toy Fair. Unicron for 2018, Primus at the end of the PotP line in 2019.

I'd have loved Omega. Omega's the one I want. So many obscure G1 figures are getting great new toys now, he desperately needs an update in that style true to his original form.

So I've come to realize that TR Voyager optimus/octone is one of those weird molds that so specific, but is actually surprisingly extremely versatile.
I'm not just throwing this mold at every long nosed truck, I think this would actually work extremely well for these-

Optimus tooling:
•Scourge (goes without saying)
•eHobby Ultra Magnus (also goes without saying)
•Toxitron
•Gobot Staks
•Oiler, w/Titanmaster Slide

Octone tooling:
•Energon Rodimus- new titanmaster or reuse rodimus prime TM.
•G2 Staxx
•PCC Crankcase
•PCC Huffer

New tooling:
•DotM Megatron- new headmaster, new chest, cloth cloak

And also, unless the next one is basically what amounts to voyager scaled MP optimus (they have yet to do a classics update of the original G1 design that wasn't halfassed) I'm now officially done with G1/G2 Optimus updates in Generations.

Here's hoping the next one is Armada, War Within, or an original design.
(That said, I wouldn't snub my nose at a "proper" Powermaster update. And by proper, I mean with a separate cab that turns into a G1 style robot. But after CW vibing Marvel so strongly, it's no longer a priority on my wish list)

Transformers: Robots in Disguise Season Two-
Rise of the Headmasters

Optimus Prime has taken Galvatron, the Decepticons, and the Predacons back for trial and prison back on Cybertron.
Upon being found guilty, their heads were removed, converted to minicons, and their bodies permanently disposed of.

Cryotek has other plans though. After time, he and his band break Megatron and his crew out of prison, and escape in a transwarp slipstream to Quintessa.
There, using technology stolen from Fortress Maximus, they construct new transtector bodies for Megatron and Scourge, and from there they plot their return to earth, and revenge on the Autobots.
As a reward for their loyalty in the previous conflict, Megatron decides to keep the predacon and combatrons around, but declares they must earn their worth to earn a new body.

Meanwhile on Earth, the Autobots have set up an embassy, and have also reverse engineered Fortress Maximus' headmaster technology, finding that humans are more open to interacting with the autobots when the two races are the same size.
Fiercely unhappy with his new diplomatic mission, Ultra Magnus and his new Maximals would rather patrol the city, and find adventure.

The other day we were talking about the idea of the T30/CW point being not so much a reset, but a point at which Hasbro decided to have a go at a new cohesive range that incorporated as many of the original characters as possible. I was just updating my 'who from the 84-86 era hasn't had a new figure since T30 started' list with the Pottop news, which therefore forms a wishlist:

1984
No figure: Sideswipe, Frenzy
Inappropriate size or restricted/limited release: Bluestreak, Ratchet, Skywarp, Thundercracker

1985
No figure: Omega Supreme, Dinobots, Grapple, Inferno, Red Alert, Tracks, Coneheads, Barrage, Ransack, Venom
Inappropriate size or restricted/limited release: Shockwave

1986
No figure: Hubcap, Outback, Eject, Steeljaw, Runabout, Runamuck, Predacons, Ratbat
Inappropriate size or restricted/limited release: Wreck-Gar, Ramhorn, Reflector


I don't think we'll see an Omega because that Titan ship has sailed; it's pretty clear when Hasbro did the vote between him, Scorp and Trypticon that they really were only thinking about doing one of them. I think Phil's right that they have moved on from cassettes too, so the rest of those are unlikely. Shockwave also seems permanently ignored because everyone wants him as a gun. Doubt the rest of the Insecticons will get a look in.

So - Sideswipe/Red Alert and possibly even Tracks from the new Jazz mould making four extra Autobot CW limbs
If we've seen Starscream as a new torso mould can we hope Inferno and Grapple also get one? 
Skywarp/Thundercracker for sure.
Coneheads are now possible, but six planes from one mould feels too many for retail waves.
Hubcap and Outback for sure, and we should get a better Cliffjumper somewhere.

All told it's not a bad show.

There is a definite absence of beasts from all this. Hasbro must already be planning the post Prime Wars Generations toys, I wonder if that will be beast focused and we'll get stuff like Predacons and Dinobots there among Beast Wars homages.

Edit: CW was good at making a base Deluxe mould, repainting that and then remoulding it (and sometimes even repainting the remould), so looking at Jazz's alt mode I reckon he's a remould of a Sideswipe we haven't seen yet, who will get repainted as Red Alert.

I demand a new Prowl. CW is lovely. But I want a really nice G1y Prowl. Classics as ok, but even back then, it lacks. The Jazz we've seen remoldpainted as Prowl would be interesting. I want a new Prowl IN WAVE ONE. If I don't get one, I'll become dark and cross.

I been thinking. Even though Generations is supposed to pan-generational, and non-biased to any one thing, it's pretty squarely G1. Even non-g1 stuff gets repurposed and shoehorned into G1 (Armada Starscream, Tankor, Rattrap).

But nowhere is this bias stronger than with Optimus Prime.
G1 Optimus has had 11 unique designs across the 35 or so years-












And I'm not sure how these two qualify, but they're def unique looks:




My point is, all these designs bring something new to the table to G1 Optimus. Everything else is in some way an homage, or direct update to one of these designs. (And I admit, it's really stretching it adding Gen Orion Pax to this list given how informed it is by the stuff that came before)
Specifically three of these, almost exclusively. Everything else... Actionmaster, MP, Classics, CW, TR... they are all in some way going back to the iconic design, powermaster, or laserrod (though ehobby kup repaint can now be added).
And now it seems PotP, as it combines the main feature of PMOP with a superbot that looks like the normal G1 robot.

We now have the next to perfect updates to Powermaster and Laserrod. And they're still swinging and missing (in really weird ways) at the iconic design.
Can we now get some more variety in our optimi? We get several Optimus a year. Would it really hurt to give us a deluxe based on Hero or Gobot? Or a leader based on Star Convoy?
...or god forbid, an update to RiD, or Armada? Hell, at this point I might even accept a classics/g1 styled version of the TFP or Movie design. I mean they're all gonna be shoehorned into being G1 Optimus anyway, so why does it matter? Just give us some variety!

The train one is TFP/Aligned. A different character to G1.
And CW is, like Classics and Actionmaster, still based on the iconic original
