I remember Nick finding one and he texted me about it but it was overpriced so I said nay, presuming I would find it at RRP yet never did.

That'll be a comic shop or similar then, which doesn't really count as they'll have imported it.

Same here. 'That's not Huffer!' I huffed at the time.
'Now I don't have a huffer,' I huffed even more a year later.

Well that just increased the list considerably! For the purposes of variety I reckon I'll explore a few more of the earlier figures. I would have bought the Planet of Junk set at TFN to get a couple of Junkions, but held back because I want to know what Walgreens are up to and we're also getting another Hot Rod next year. It was cheap at ID too, £45 I think. Pinwig ....... www.kapowtoys.co.uk/transformers-platinum-planet-of-junk-clash-3-pack-4400.html

They advertised it on FB - they have cheap Leokaiser and Max back in too - and I knew someone here wanted it. A quick search for junk confirmed my suspicion it was you.

I've been exercising my mind on the concept of "Power Up" combiners, where the Combined form is essentially a powered up version of the Torso. Jetty mentions the idea here in relation to POTP Starscream with his crowned Emperor Starscream combined form and another leaked by officially unrevealed Torso tmukhub.proboards.com/post/296536/threadI have a similar theme here, with a Thunderwing inner robot/vehicle being a better torso for a combiner with a Thunderwing Pretender head tmukhub.proboards.com/post/297044/threadThe idea has king of done with CW with Optimus Prime becoming Optimus Maximus, essentially a powered up Prime. So I was thinking what other characters would lend themselves to a Powered Up form combiner? Megatron -> Galvatron is an obvious one as is the White "Optimus Prime" body -> combiner with Ultra Magnus super robot head. On a similar line to Thunderwing, a Bludgeon tank with the robot head and a Torso with the Pretender head. IU can't really think of another Pretender famous enough to make that idea work, possibly Skullgrin?, and don't think it would work on the Human Autobot Pretender heads. The only other real Power Ups I can think of involve cars - Hot Rod -> Rodimus Prime and Bumblebee -> Goldbug, the difficulty with both being that there's never been a car as a traditional combiner torso. So can anyone think of any other characters/toys that would lend themselves to a similar concept?

Okay now this isn't my typical "no more combiners" deal, because after some time I'd not mind a few more (new) combiners. But I feel that going full blown CW2 is just lazy, and I wish they had given PotP a unique gimmick all of it's own. Particularly one that actually features in with the leader class Mortal/Prime upgrade gimmick.
For Deluxes, they could have brought back the duel robot modes concept they tinkered with in Universe 2 and Generations 1 (Sideswipe/Sunstreaker, Wheeljack/Tracks).
Imagine a deluxe Bumblebee, that you plug the Primemaster in a little hole somewhere like a key, and it unlocks the chest. A new head flips out, the arms swap places with new arms, the legs extend a bit, and the rear backpack kibble moves up to become a hood, and voila! Goldbug!
Imagine a voyager cybertron Hotshot, that comes with clip on armor turning him in both modes into his Cybertron Defence form.
An additional leader class could easily use a deluxe Armada Red Alert, converting him into his Cybertron Defence form. And another voyager straight up replicating the leader class gimmick on a smaller scale, for a legends to Cyb Defence Scattorshot.
Also without the combiner gimmick forced into the line, Rodimus could have been a voyager class, which I think everything about that toy would work better at that scale.

I thought Bumblebee would have worked as a slightly smaller than usual deluxe (like the Classics vesion) with 2 Titanmasters, one for BB, one for Goldbug.

Transformers Generations The Battle for Earth
This line aims to do a few things: 1. Not weasle out of the Pretenders 2. Add humans, and human cross compatibility.
The basic story, the decepticons have teamed up with the villainous bio-engineers, the Quintessons, and the two plan to take Earth. The Decepticons want the resources, and in exchange for the Quintessons help and their legion of genetically and technologically modified alien monsters, they get the humans. The Autobots team up with the humans to create the EDF- the Earth Defense Force, to protect earth from the invasion.
Titanmaster/Primemaster class is replaced with human and monster minifigures the size of the PM decoy armor. They come with weapons and accessories.
Legion class continues with a mixture of small transformers, but also includes large alien monsters given transforming abilities, quintessons, and small converting vehicles (transforms from vehicle into weapon or powersuit) for the humans and small aliens.
Combat Class- a new class of Transforming vehicles. Converts from one type of vehicle to another, or from vehicle to beast. Can be piloted by the human/monster minifigures. Each one also includes a minifigure. In some clases, may include a titanmaster in decoy armor, such as Gunrunner and Roadgrabber.
Other classes continue on mostly as normal transformers, with perhaps the occasional giant transforming monster thrown in. They also combine the Titanmaster gimmick with the Decoy Suit gimmick to realize the Pretenders. Examples- Deluxe: Standard TR style robot, but also includes PM style decoy armor for the titanmaster, which allows the transformer greater personal interaction with their human allies. Decoy armor transforms into simple weapons. •Jazz. Retool of PotP Jazz to make him TM compatible. Decoy Armor based on Pretender Classics Jazz shell (only make him black, this time!!!) •Iguanus. Based on g1 inner robot. TM can ride bike, Decoy armor based on G1 shell •"Cogman". Sportscar, somewhat based on TLK. Decoy armor for Titanmaster loosely based on Anthony Hopkins. •Sunstreaker. G1 based headmaster, with decoy armor based on Hunter O'Nion.
Voyager: Has more interactivity with decoy armor, or decoy armor has a more complex transformation into vehicle. •Bludgeon. Tank entirely based on inner robot, and titanmaster. Also includes interactive compatibility with the decoy armor.
Leader: Scorponok. G1 based TR styled Scorponok, includes decoy armor homaging BW Scorponok.
And so on.

Two new oldschool type subgroups. Not a linewide gimmick. Just three or four, each.
Kagebots- Led by Prowl, a group of autobot cyberninja have mastered a new ability, to cloak themselves in shadows. It's impossible to fight what is impossible to see. -Each toy is cast in smokey dark translucent plastic, with glow-in-the-dark paint for the eyes. Each one comes with a gun, with a UV light in the barrel.
With this new skill, the Decepticons fight back hard, by creating the Luxicons- a group of decepticons endowed with the power of weaponized light, capable of piercing the darkest shadow. -Each toy is cast in and painted with glow in the dark paint (that would look amazing being lit up by a black light), and comes with a similar gun to the Kagebots, with a white LED light in the barrel.
Of course, each mold can be cast in normal plastics for future repaints. Perhaps play up the UV guns by using "hidden" paint apps that flash up when the black light in on them.

Sticking this here because it seems most relevant.
I was just thinking. We're excited by the prospect of a Commander class Scorponok next year, which seems a distinct possibility and we know John Warden has said Jetfire isn't a one off, there will be more toys in that class. But, where would that leave the Titan class? Aside from Scorponok I can't think now of any Transformer toys of a relative size that suit that class. For a massive investment like that I would imagine they would want well recognised names too. Metroplex, Trypticon, Fort Max and Omega are the four that spring to mind, and when you move into the cartoon scale you have Devastator and Predaking too. But past that, if not Scorponok, who? Having a leader Astrotrain makes me think there will be a new Broadside at some point - he would be a good Commander class going by his apparent cartoon size. In fact at one point he was shown to be the size of a combiner, so he could at a push be a Titan. Seems unlikely though.

Titan class is probably done. Dev and Predaking were really inappropriately pushing it, and as you said, the four big names are now done, and anyone else that's actually suited to the class (Tidal Wave, Skylynx) isn't well known enough to risk it.

It does make me wonder if this year is a handover year, with Jetfire AND Omega, then next year we get no Titan and a Commander Scorponok and the internet explodes with rage he isn't the same size as Max.
