I agree with Phil Re: the remaining Diaclone cars. They'd all look terribly similar but it would be awesome to have the lot in the same line. I know 3P has moved on for the most part to Masterpiece now, but I can't help but wonder if when the dust settles and this line does conclude that there won't be 3P additions to fill out the range. Planet X for example have done those great Dinobots to give FoC Grimlock his buddies in the right style. Surely the ease with which the combiner connector can be replicated, someone will do new limb sets to extend the range. The fact that a Scattershot exists must make it tempting for someone to produce some new Technobots.
If you look at the G1 1986 range, and then what we've had recently, there does seem to be a conscious effort on Hasbro's part to redo all those toys. Even obscure stuff like Sky Linx and also Trypticon as a platinum figure. Look at the line up and compare it - it's almost like 2015/16 is drawing exclusively from 1986.
Edit: err, yeah. So what I meant to say was if we're talking wish list I'll have Predacons please.

Actually, in the realms of possibility, what I really would like to see for the sake of completion is when Takara reveal their shuttle based Blast Off, and surely that must be coming, that Hasbro announce another exclusive pair in the US to release that and the Deluxe Groove. I know that's an obvious request but I was just thinking - what would they be called?
Slingshot = Quickslinger
Wildrider = Brakeneck
Groove = ?
Blast Off = ?
Everything I can think of at the moment has already been used!
The only thing that worries me about that is that if Hasbro have done all their retail finances based on the moulds they've used, then Quickslinger and Brakeneck are just repaints with new heads. Groove is totally new (and cost wise he has a transparent plastic wind shield doesn't he? no other CW toys have transparent plastics? which makes that part costly to produce by itself?), and Blast Off will at least be a heavy remould of Alpha Bravo. That might alter the cost to them a bit.

Groove - Highway? has that been used?

I did think of chips, that's what led me to Highway, but Moonraker is perfect. Wonder if that's copyrighted. I was toying with Solar Flare, but Moonraker wins!

I'd been giving some thought to what Combiner Wars should have done next And I've come to the conclusion it should have been Predaking. Razorclaw - Lion Headstrong - Rhino Divebomb - Eagle Rampage - Bull Tantrum - big cat My reasoning is there's an easy repaint Beast Wars combiner out there waiting to be done Lioconvoy - Lion Rhinox - Rhino Airazor - Eagle Bonecrusher - Bull Cheetor - big cat And beyond that there's a couple of obvious uses for the big cat limb as Tigatron & Shadow Panther/Tripredicus AgentAnd another, paired up with the Eagle mould, as Pounce & Wingspan. Of course Shadow Panther, above, is effectively Ravage so why not go again with the eagle mould as the pairing of Laserbeak & BuzzsawWhich in turn makes you wonder if the Rhino would work as Rumble & Frenzy and the Lion as SoundwaveThat's 3 full combiners, packed with fan fave characters, plus a few extras, thatyou could get from one combiner mould set. |
