Have you got a link to the fix? The last one I saw meant pretty much disassembling the entire figure.

Fraid not, but it probably is the one you've seen. It was pretty complicated.

Which Classics (Universe/Generations/RTS) toys would you want Hasbro to do a complete from scratch redesign on? Not a modify a little bit (ie give Inferno a ladder) but start all over again make a new toy cos the first version wasn't good enough? I have some nominess but I'll let others share first!

Hot Rod, its bloody awful. I just don't like the look of it. Hot Rod should be much sleeker and the articulation is a mess.
Grimlock is a fine transforming Dinosaur, but not much of a Grimlock. Its not often you'll hear me say this but it probably should have been a voyager class figure.
I love the strike jet look, but its getting to be a bit basic compared to recent deluxes in terms of articulation. Maybe a bit small too. I wouldn't want them as voyagers but they make me miss the old Mega price point.
Prowl and repaints. Besides the way the head sits in robot mode theres nothing really bad about it, but in comparison to Jazz its nearest design sibling it does look like the designer wasn't trying very hard.
Ironhide and Ratchet for obvious reasons.

As Andy says, Ironhide and Ratchet were pretty bad.
I'd like to see those redone, but with the van splitting into cab/trailer with a decent robot alongside the repair bay.
I was never too keen on seeing Megatron as a NERF gun.

I don't have the same hate for the Ironhide and Ratchet, I can see and appreciate what they were going for, it would have worked a lot better if the windows weren't the focal point for all the panels and hinges! The neck on that mold is more of an irritant for me!
I like Hot Rod apart from the head, it really doesn't work, way too 'roboty' dare I say.

To roboty is how I think of the entire figure.
I don't particularly hate Ironhide either, but the two points you mentioned aren't things that can be fixed with minor tweaks to the mould. It could have been done so much easier. Take Animated Ratchet and flatten the front of the van, square off all the body parts give it a G1 head.

Do Ironhide & Ratchet just like Universe Inferno/RTS Grappel and I'll be happy.
I like Hot Rod, but I can see where you're coming from.
Grimlock definitely needs redoing with the more traditional TF and up one size.
Happy with Starscream etc
Haven't got much problem with Prowl but would like a larger chest.
Happy with Megatron, especially the silver United version.
There are others I have issues with.... I wait to see if anyone else brings them up

I like to think of Classics Rodimus as G2 Hot Rod. The 'roboty' head, particularly the mouth, is reminiscent of his appearance in the Marvel G2 comic.
I vote for Powerglide. The jet mode is suitably G1-ish in his red incarnation, but the transformation into robot mode is a pain and the legs are poorly designed, making it difficult to get him to stand in a heroic/not desperate for the toilet pose.

Grimlock is the biggest irritant for me. Those legs! What were they thinking? And then Animated came along...
Ratchet and Ironhide don't bother me too much, just the necks like everybody says.
Oh, and Octane/Tankor. That thing is just lazy.

It's already been said, but I agree as well on Ironhide and Ratchet. They can be done well without being so complicated.
Scrap NERF Gun Megs or even any idea of a bigger version of Orange cap Megs and go straight for the juggular. Bring on the G2 Tank Megs! The Legends figure was ace, but there needs to be a bigger figure.
As I've said in a previous thread - there should be more technobeasts. Maybe a Blot figure with an MOTU Slimepit style playset.
Happy with: Sideswipe, Optimus, Seekers, and Grimlock mainly

He's more re-imagined than many classics characters. Transformers fans don't want re-imagined, they want the original but with more articulation.

Nah, it's the legs that mess it up for me. There no real effort put into them. It's just the front half of a dinosaur split in two.

Fo me Grimlock has a few problems. Firstly the figure isn't really that stable, the arms don't really hold into place all that well. I'm not a fan of simply pulling off a tail and calling it a sword, at least Dinobots does transform in some way. Then its the legs. I'm all for reimaginings Laser Prime and Classic Prime are my two favourite Primes, but the legs wide at the knee down to tiny little ankles just don't work. Flip those around and the toy has a Grimlock vibe, as is the vibe is buccaneer. Which would be fine as a new Dinobot, it just doesn't work for me as Grimlock.
In truth the Dinobots Grimlock particularly are in my mind such perfect designs that they are some of the few characters I aren't keen on reimaginings. Give me the G1 version with modern articulation and I'm happy. In other words Masterpiece Grimlock.

You also don't need to detatch the tail when you transform him to robot mode, I seem to recall. Is that right or am I making that up?

No, the tail can just hang down his back in robot mode. Thats where it tends to stay on mine anyhow.

Optimus Prime. It's ok in its own right, but in no way is an improvement over the original. Missing a trailer/base, for one thing.

I like Grimlock, I don't see the problem people have with him I don't mind it. I would have bought one but could never find one at retail. I think it's been trumped by MP Grimlock though, which renders any further update pointless. It's been done now! -Ralph

Ironhide and Ratchet - a transformation that is the wrong kind of fiddly, seamlines that make it look unfinished even when it is transformed and a design flaw that means that they always seem to be looking down into their own chest cavities slightly.

Would like a proper G1 styled Prime with trailer that simply becomes a mobile base (no silly armour). The cab front would become the chest (no cheating with extra grills or windows) The robot should be voyager scale but with the trailer would push it towards Ultra size. I know we had the'deluxe' style one but that was pants and way too small to be even sold as that scale. Quite like the Ratchet toy but would ideally like one to incorperate the repair bay and possibly even his window screen to be able to raise in front of his face as an alternative robot mode.

Prowl (and Silverstreak and Smokescreen). The robot mode of the existing Deluxes is too 'feminine' in proportions, the transformation sequence too awkward and un-doable without popping the car doors off their balljoint, and the car mode looks pretty crap, particularly Prowl's.
The seekers aren't too good either, yes, solid, but predictable and boring, and not too posable. Wish that HasTak had gone with an F-22 seekers, like the early IDW comics, than F-15 again just to please the nostalgia crowd.

He's more re-imagined than many classics characters. Transformers fans don't want re-imagined, they want the original but with more articulation. Agree! Ratchet and Ironhide are the main ones for me. That mold is utter crap on a stick and the 'designer' should be given lashes! Horrible mould. Shamefull infact! As, I think it was Big Phil, said, a delux mold with similar transformation to Inferno would be perfect. A mould like this must be easier to assemble than that ridiculous cracked-egg mould. Optimus isn't bad, but could have been improved. A scaled down MPish transformation. And ofcourse a trailer! Megatron I don't like very much, looks skinny and bizzar. The wings don't suite Megatron, and the cannon is fitted to the wrong side of his arm. The Classics colouration is awefull. The United version does look acceptable though. A Tank made to look like G1 Megs in robot mode must be possible. Infiltration Megatron! The strike planes are great, but too small. Yes, darn you Size Police, I said it!!! If you stand, say, Ramjet next to Prowl, he just looks too small. They needed to be voyager, but I understand why they weren't. Grimlock also should have been larger. And even though I love my Classics Prowl, I too am disatisfied with his head in particular- lazy articulation. I also don't like the way the front wings end up on his doors. Now I have Jazz these flaws are made more obvious. He also wont stand for toffee. Would if I dare atempt to give Prowl a ball and socket neck/head! Oh, and make Bumblebee a scout class to better fit his character. Still, despite all this, a darn great line! LONG LIVE CLASSICS!!!
