If you buy enough stuff the shipping price drops off quite quicky. 2 Astrtrains and a nightbeat $70+ for shipping. But yeah for indivdual figures it's a joke.

$70+ still seems pretty steep D:

Yeah not cheap but £17 per TF isn't terrible either. Astotrain is huge and Nightbeats box is big enough to fit a comic. 2 sets of the Astrotrain (4 Astrotrains) work out at £41 each or 4 Nightbeats for £33 each including shipping. Course I dont want Astrotrain and already have Nightbeat so not really any good to me. Andy

If you like Armada Jetfire Astrotrain is rather nice and it comes with extra minicons, again if you like that sort of thing. The new head is very good.
Nightbeat despite being Energon Hotshot isn't bad and it comes with probably the best fiction FP have managed, I know faint praise and al that, though in this case I found it fun the read.
Airrazor is also really good, best mould of the bunch, but almost completely pointless without the rest of the Botcon 2006 set.

I'm sure TFCC were at Auto Assembly last year. Wouldn't they be able to give people the figures at next years convention?

While true, they had less than ten of each figure there. And again, (for me at least) paying the huge international fan rate is really only worthwhile for the Botcon attendees and discounts. If you're going to Botcon then yeah, its fab, but without that it doesn't seem worth it to me.

Maybe, sometime in the future, a Hot Shot mould won't be used to make a Collector's Club toy.

Don't like the visor still on the toy. Makes it more of a cheaper repaint feel.
But i do like the EG logo

TFCC charge insane rates for international customers for fan club reg, hence why they get none of my business.

I have to agree that the sheer cost of registration as an international member has established that I will never be a member of TFCC. Given that I cannot in general afford to go to Botcon (I may make it one day, but it will be off the back of a special budget) it simply isn't value for money for me to consider it. Especially as the only Club exclusive I have actually been interested in so far is Airrazor. Adding the price of membership to the cost of that toy makes it ludicrously more than prohibitive.

Yeah, if I want a fan club toy, I'll just grab it cheaper off ebay. The only non-con toy they've done that I'm after at some point is the Nightbeat. Though i'M Not so desperate for that now I have proper Nightbeat (albeit missing an ear alas).

SG Cyclonus. www.transformersclub.com/_images/2010/cyclonusALTmock.jpgPersonally I'm not a huge fan of Shattered Glass, though the Botcon comic sold me on it more than I expected. On the other hand the Hot Rod based colours look good and any chance to get more of the Cyclonus mould is ok with me. Also as its a straight repaint it should come in a lot cheaper than the previous TFCC toys. Andy

Hmmmm. It is slightly similar to Henkei Strafe, and by that I mean not at all, but with the same colours to make me a bit Not sure how I feel about this one, I'll have to look at it in robot mode. I'd have preferred something with not the same colour pallette as Stafe. Not got him yet though!

I know what you mean. I do like Strafes white a lot, but it seems to cost £75 ish everywhere. Cyclonus will cost I guess £25. Shipping will be a bitch but bought in lots of two or more or along with Punch CounterPunch I'd be surprised if it cost more than £40-45.
Or looked at another way. Punch/CounterPunch and SG Cyclonus or Henkei Strafe cause I expect the total shipped prices to be similar. I think I'll go with the club and hope I can find a reasonable Strafe at Botcon or AA.

I've been looking on there a bit and the prices are about £35-40 (5000-6000 Yen) generally, but by the time I add on fees and guess at shipping it always seems to be back up to £65-75.

Maybe some sort of bulk order could bring the price down. Or get more customs fees, ho ho.
Also, apparently at Botcon 09, we were told that the second exclusive definately would not be a deluxe and would be larger. So I guess lots of stuff fell through!!

Yup, but that doesn't bother me, it saves me too much money. Of course if it turned out to be something like Artfire I wouldn't have minded, but I think odds were still of another AEC toy.

Nick says Strafes are quite cheaper on ebay japan, but I haven't yet worked out how to use it! Well... I've been hunting for one on Yahoo Japan at under 4000 yen, but have had no success so far. They tend to go for about 5000, which as Andy says is about 35 quid- add on fees and postage and you're looking at coming up on 60 at least. Such is the nature of obscure Japanese exclusives. -Nick

Yet more Splattered Glass Fanwank. (Ew.)
They could run for years and years with this theme. There'll be a pastel pink Shockwave next.

Garish colours aside, and there are some hideous redesigns/repaints, I actually like Shattered Glass much more than anything else FP have put out. It's easily the best story they ever did, although granted that's not saying much, but I did enjoy it. I'm not overly fussed on Cyclonus' jet mode in those coours, but I think it'll look much better in robot form.
