Takara edging it for me here, the scheme looks more unified with the orange following back from the nose and spreading along the wings. Nicer little touches, too, like the silver bars. Hasbro's looks a bit disjointed in comparison. -Jim

Gawd those side by side comparisons don't do it any favours do they. The mould looks a lot better than in photos I've seen till these, but all that red plastic. On the plus side applying black paint over a lot of the red will probably be a quick and easy fix.
I'll get it for the comic and if I feel the need to get Takaras effort this one will go in my AMTC repaint box, though I then have to decide if I need to do both the armada and this version or if just one will be sufficient.
I haven't paid much attention to the minicons but they look surprisingly good, I especially like the jet one, good robot proportions.

Starscream looks cheap and hollow and a step down from the toy that inspired it. By contrast, that mini-con combiner team looks great! Combined robot dude really does look nice.

While i don't like it, i can deal with the over abundance of red. What surprisingly really hurts it is the way the shoulder intakes fold back. It really kinda kills one of the most iconic parts of armada scream's looks. My only complaint about the original is that the rocket launchers couldn't fold down onto his back. Now they do, and they take the wrong part with them... >_<
Love the minicons, and i am now going bonkers over Scoop!

I hadn't noticed the intakes could be Armada style of folded back, you're right, its a shame they could hinge the rockets to keep the intakes in place when folded back, but it wouldn't be possible while keeping the missiles in place. Having said that I quite like how it looks with them folded back.
Scoop though looks like just about the most literal update of a G1 toy I can think of. Added articulation and more human-ish robot mode proportions and thats it.
And it sounds as though BM Tankor is taking the show accurate route that Rattrap went and is getting it spot on too.

I have not seen Crosscut. Dare I dream it is the chap Straxus pushed on to an unstable prototpe cross-dimensional space bridge to see if it was working only for him to explode?

I am liking the look of the Tankor - always was a fan of the look of the Beast Machines stuff and that is a fantastic rendition. The Mini-con combiner looks absolutely fantastic - a lot of the Brave-ish influence that we've seen in the Transformers GO combiners and with really good looking altmodes. I can see me springing for the mini-combiner.
The Armada Starscream I am rather less impressed with than I was. It isn't really the colours particularly. It just looks too spindly. The thing I liked about Armada Starscream was that he had a solidity to him, a "take the hit and keep on trucking" look of resilience. This looks too light and thin to really take a hit and lacks the presence of the old design. It isn't the size so much as the fact that he doesn't really have a striking "thereness" about him.
It was the case that I was looking forward to the Starscream and swithering on the Mini-combiner. Now I am looking forward to the Mini-combiner and swithering on the Starscream.
Tankor though... FACTORY BOTS LOAD TANKORS FASTAAAAAA!

Tankors tank mode looks a bit elongated, but robot mode is fantastic. I worry it'll get me troop building tank drone or McTankor. I'd don't know if Crosscut is looking good because its good or just because it's actually coloured silver rather than that awful grey Hasbro usually use.
Must see Nightbeat.

Tankor is deluxe, right? It just struck me that he'll be in scale with most of the classics, since he pretty much was the size of a small to medium transformer like Prowl or Bumblebee.
Either way, completely geeking out over him and rattrap. I like crosscut a lot better than Skids. Stupid amount of guns for skids, but i have no knowledge of crosscut's intended personality, so it doesn't look *as* ridiculous.

www.tfu.info/2002/Cybertron/CrossCut/crosscut.htmSo it seem's Crosscut was an ambassador. So the guns are ever more ridiculous now. >_< What is it with hasbro and arming almost non-combatants and pacifists to the teeth? Seriously, an entire line of toys where there's not a single weapon, and As soon as Beachcomber is made, they'll give him the only gun. Skids is almost as pacifistic as Beachcomber, and every inch of him has a weapon on it!

I've been back and had another look at the list of deluxe toys which was got from the Hasbro computer a while back (see here) These are the currently out wave 3: DREADWING A5478 WASPINATOR A5479 SKIDS A5480 GOLDFIRE A5481/BUMBLEBEE GOLD BUG A2378 - I think these are the same toy - BB in Wave 3 is called Goldfire BB This is Wave 4 which we've seen pictures off and is out in the Far East SKYWARP A5778 MINICON 3 PACK A5779 SCOOP A5780 They're missing Armada Starscream from there This is the Wave 5 we've seen pictures of Today: TANKOR A6345/TANK A7801 again these look like the same toy - but see bellow CROSSCUT A6346 RATTRAP A6347 NIGHTBEAT A6348 So still to come: HARDHEAD A9252 - there was a Hardhead shown as a War Path repaint with new head mold in Warpath's instructions ARCEE A7800 CHROMIA A7801 - chromia's number matches TANK A7801 above JHIAXUS A7802 FANS CHOICE A7803/WINDBLADE A7803 definitely the same toy. So it seem's Crosscut was an ambassador. So the guns are ever more ridiculous now. >_< "Diplomacy is the art of saying nice doggy until you can find a rock" - Will Rogers It appears Cross-cut has found the rock... :-) I think the Generations Skids is based on the one that appears in IDW's "More Than Meets The Eye" rather than the "The Transformers" version. The former is by no means as much of a pacifist as the latter - and also by no means as mentally stable (although I suppose that is already covered by "appears in MTME" really...) Karl

Crosscut looks pretty decent.
The mini-con combiner really appeals to me the most though. May have to import the US version with the comic so I can find out who he is! I'm more drawn to new characters these days rather than the nth version of a chap from the 80's.

So the guns are ever more ridiculous now. >_< "Diplomacy is the art of saying nice doggy until you can find a rock" - Will Rogers It appears Cross-cut has found the rock... :-) Lol! When you put it like that, it works! Helps that he has no fictional appearances to really contradict a new portrayal. Yeah, and that's another issue I have. It's one thing to put a new spin on a character, but I've never liked it when someone fundamentally changes a character's personality just because they can, and only because "He only had small appearances, no one cares about this guy." When you fundamentally change a character, you may as well not use him at all, and make an original character. I didn't like when Furman did it to Arcee and Jhiaxus, or when McCarthy did it to Perceptor (or anything else he did), and I'm not fond of Roberts doing it to Skids. It feels as bad as FunPub's hot messes they call fiction. (I also hate IDW shoehorning BW characters into their version of G1, but that 's a different gripe that has more to do with a hugely missed opportunity to create their own BW series set in IDW G1's future, than anything else)

Very happy with Crosscut. I'd have preferred Tankor to be bigger, but the voyager lineup is so good I wouldn't want to see anybody cut to let him in!

Like I said, he may not be in scale with the beasts, but he *is* in scale with the classics autobots and decepticons (well, at least those who aren't out of scale, themselves), so there's that, at least!

Picked up Skids today, but still feel heartbroken over missing Waspinator.
First, the comic that came with him is the first thing since LSotW and Maximum Dinobots that I've enjoyed (not counting regeneration one)
Onto the toy... it's soooo not Skids. It's lightyears from being a proper Skids. May as well be lime green and a racist stereotype, its that far from being Skids. But it's still a pretty cool toy, with a lot of repaint potential. Great transformation scheme... I think it's back up to what we expect from Generations. He 's a great robot, and extremely visually interesting. Its just a shame his weapons screw him out of a lot of possible repaints. Because he'd actually be a pretty good pre-beast Tigatron if not for them. However, I'd kill to have him repainted as pre-beast B'Boom!
