It's such a swizz, one year early. Diminishes the whole thing IMO. Curse them!

Well this would be the 30th year wouldnt it?
1 84 2 85 3 86 4 87 5 88 6 89 7 90 8 91 9 92 10 93 11 94 12 94 13 96 14 97 15 98 16 99 17 00 18 01 19 02 20 03 21 04 22 05 23 06 24 07 25 08 - did the 25th anniversary line start in 2008? 26 09 27 10 28 11 29 12 30th year 2013.
Sorry had to type that all out to make sure I was right. It is the 30th year of Transformers being released, just not the 30th anniversary.

It's the 30th year, but 30 years haven't passed yet. 30 haven't passed 'till next year. Er, I think.

Exactly. I can think of no other anniversary that didn't go by years! This is nonsense!

Oh its daft, but as Jetty said, if they had waited till next year as they tried with the 25th it would only have had 3 months before the movie toys hit, at best that would have been one or two waves and the last few figures being impossible to get hold off etc, etc. and then it would have been overwhelmed. Retailers wouldn't stock something as big as Metroplex when dozens of movie backed toys, some almost as expensive as Metroplex are being released.
As it is the 30th toys are due to run right through into 2014 so some will be released at the right time. They only have the tail end of Beast Hunters to compete with so the full run should be relatively available.
Wrongly timed, but easily available year long great toyline or correctly timed 3 month, abridged, hard to find great toyline?

It's the way my brain works. I can't buy something that says 30th anniversary a year early. I can't do it until next year! It's a foible. I had the same problem when some DW 50th anniversary stuff came out last year. Hurts my head.

I guess that rather than celebrating 30 years of TFs, they are celebrating the 30th year of them instead.
It's not as annoying as when they have something like (for instance)'30 years of Paddington Bear' when he hasn't been in the limelight or been in constant production since he was created. Birthday yes, but not '30 years of...'.
Nothing against Paddington Bear of course - he's great. Loved the Marmite ads!

One of my favourite instances of that kind of thing is from the Star Trek VHS releases of the early 90s. There was a 2-3 minute promo thing (which I loved) for the 25th anniversary which contained the phrase "spanning 4 decades".

The large Ultra Magnus is the Platinum Edition Ultra Magnus from TF Prime- a repaint of Weaponiser Optimus Prime with a big ol' hammer. He was everywhere in Singapore, and on clearance in most places. I would have brought one or two back but his box is prohibitively big. Rhinox looks the same size as Doubledealer. Is he a voyager? He is an' all!-Nick

I do like that Mini-con combiner - once again there is a bit of a Brave vibe to the way it works, and it looks very unified in the combined mode.
I actually quite like that new take on Armada Starscream. Is that a deluxe? If it is I might find myself tempted to spring for that.

The Wheeljack instructions were there for comparison to their other instructions in an attempt to justify the upscaled Legions and Comamanders. Which are dreadful.
