There was an advert on screen at the Top Cat showing the new RID range.

Wait, what?! Really? Is this not news or something? Since when is our beloved toy line actually punted at people?

We get nurid commercials a lot here. Always advertising the crappier end of the line though, the minicons, deployers, and one and three step changers. Often featuribg a realistic CGI Bumblebee fighting Steeljaw with some surprisingly good effects in a commercial.
If we get a commercial, it's always for the kids line like nurid, or whatever movie is out. Never for Generations.

No, but the advert will have been shot once and just redubbed for different accents/languages. I dare say there may well be versions in French(for Quebec if nothing else), German, Russian and so on. In effect its probably just a US advert localised for the UK (if they've even bothered doing that, not seen it to judge the mid-atlantisity of the accents).
They'll not have bothered to do a separate advert for Europe, easier just to do it once and loop it. (A lot of voice actors make a lot of their living doing that kind of thing).

Was at a loose end so decided to put together a couple of CW combined bots. Put Silverbolt together with Prowl (the right arm of justice), Mirage, Ironhide and Sunstreaker.
Went to put Cyclonus together with Decepticon limbs and realised I only had 3 of them. So Air Raid has become a Decepticon.

It's because of Cyclonus' mind control and stuff.

While we're on the subject.....
If you had your pick of the 9 Combiner Wars Autobots which 4 would you choose to combine with Optimus Prime?

Good question. Ironhide would need left out because of the colour clash. Prowl right arm, Mirage left arm, Sunstreaker right leg and maybe First Aid left leg.

While we're on the subject..... If you had your pick of the 9 Combiner Wars Autobots which 4 would you choose to combine with Optimus Prime? I cannot! I can only form the robots the packaging says should be done! Only certain robots combine to form Optimus Thingybob! As a child I believed the toys and comics when they had only each member of the Special Teams forming each mighty super robot, ie Combaticons only form Bruticus, Protectobots form only Defensor etc. It literally never crossed my mind at all back in the day that robots could be swapped about (I had no idea until I saw Scramble City in the early 2000's). Even now the very idea makes me foam at the mouth! I cannot put the wrong team member in the wrong super robot formation! No. No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Ralph

SUPERCOMBINATION MODE....GOOOOOOO! I actually need five, not four to do a complete combination. But, here we go:- Ironhide, Blades, Dust-up, Firefly, Rodimus. It would give a reasonably unified colour scheme, which is something I quite like my combiners to have. Karl

Now that I have seen the Toy Story Transformer combiner I have no further need for Combiner Wars. That line is as nothing to it.

My local TRU just punted their CW deluxes up to $25 each (£17), from $18 (£12). They were already the most expensive place to get them, before. Walmart sells them for $14 (£10), and Target stays in that ballpark (usually dictated by Walmart's whims).
That is a hell of a leap, out of the blue.

Interesting. I wonder if that is the new TR price point coming in to play early.

Post by Toph on Jun 9, 2016 21:46:22 GMT
I thought about that too. That's actually in the ballpark of what TRU would charge , if the deluxes got bumped up to the rumored $22. They would have to be some hellacious deluxes though, because this rumored price is the same as current voyagers.
