Separate hand/feet parts is a big bonus and I even kind of like the piece transforms from one to the other. As fate as I can see the hands and feet are supplied with the torso and there's two of each. A hand doesn't transform into a foot..... ....unless I've read what you're saying wrong

Whereas I really don't like the idea of separate hands and feet. (I know, I know, I'm such a negative person.) Whilst I appreciate the benefits of doing things that way, one of the things I really liked about Beast Wars was the fact that all the weapons and accessories were integrated into the alt-mode. No more having to keep Optimus Primes fists in his chest or losing weapons! That was great. And was one of the reasons I hated Armada, when it basically immediately reversed that brilliant design decision. But, as with all things, we'll see how it goes...

Given how the toy industry usually works, and that BBTS has posted preorders for the final Generations 30th Deluxe & Voyager waves for release in September & October respectively, I reckon there's a pretty good chance we'll see Optimus Prime & Silverbolt and Firefly, Skydive, Alpha Bravo & Dragstrip by Christmas !

So I'm looking at these pictures trying to work out how big the combiner peg in the deluxe's chest is. Compared to the 5mm peg hole hand it looks to be at least 1cm, possibly bigger. Then I thought how "big are the shoulder peg holes on Cybertron Optimus Prime?" I will love Hasbro forever if these fit the earlier toy too. If someone is able to get to their Cybertron Op can they measure the sockets for me? And, indeed, the peg on Leo/Nemesis Breaker.

I've looked at the limb bot pictures hundreds of time yet it's only this afternoon that I've seen the teeth for the ratchet joint on the connector which enables the arm mode to turn at the shoulder.

I'm hoping they'll be some loose Optimus, both robot & combined, in the case at the show so we can answer a few more questions. Back shots in both modes would be useful.

The official pics don't do it justice but we suspected that all along.
I've noticed the windows have gone from a pale metallic blue to silver which doesn't work with the silver grey on the body

Aaaaand I'm back to liking that version of Prime even more. Dammit. I'm weak. But doesn't that packaging just look *gorgeous*? I might have to rethink my current "don't keep the boxes" strategy...
Although, why hasn't anyone picked up on the fact that the back of the box shows him using Swindle as a leg. Swindle?!? THAT'S NOT GEEWUN!!!!1! Sorry. As you were. ;-)

Think it's to show that all limbs and torsos are cross compatible, and to show that Optimus can combine with anyone.

Yes, yes, I knew what it was for. I was being facetious. ;-)
And, also, yes, it's not Swindle, is it? Clearly I *am* ill...

Yes. Yes. Yes. That looks like a different toy compared to those original shots. Wow. Very, very nice.

Does this mean no Silverbolt for the Airialbots to combine with? But in the online pictures of Superior, it looked like we'd get one...must check again.

Uff.. .That's a relief :-) Won't be getting that Prime - the Motormaster mould is enough :-)
BUT...
I wonder whether the new G2 Megatron tank mould will be able to combine?

No, It's the next size up a leader instead of a Voyager.
and neither is strictly G2: The silver one is IDW and the green one is Armada. The cest is vfery wrong for it to be G2.
I'd like to see them do a Voyager G2 Megatron, complete with proper shaped chest, as a combiner core but sadly I think the Leader puts paid to that idea.

Uh. Good point. Damn. Now I want that Leader Megatron a little less... It's also disappointing that the first wave of Voyagers is all Autobots. Where are the bad guys for them to fight? Did they learn nothing from Zone? It also means that we probably won't see Motormaster over here...
On the plus side, though, maybe the next Decepticon combiner voyager to be revealed will be a character that *hasn't* been done to death. Or maybe it'll just be a repaint of Silverbolt as Starscream. (It'll be Starscream.)

The IDW Panel this weekend did reveal some information about who will be in the Combiner Wars story that may be a hint as to who ends up in toy form: Defensor and Devastator
One of those is obvious but may provide some challenges fitting into the deluxe + voyager pattern
The other was expected as a toy but their present comic location may prevent difficulties

Someone's pointed me at this picture: Looks like the hands/feet come with the limbs and can be used as weapons

Thinking about it, now there's SIX Aerialbots, including Powerglide, and one is a Helicopter, this set is a prime candidate for a Destron Sixwing repaint

Someone's pointed me at this picture: Looks like the hands/feet come with the limbs and can be used as weapons Look carefully at the weapon Alpha Bravo is holding on the front right. You can see the fingers folded into the top of the weapon with the thumb/heel spur sticking out the back. By extension that means the peg which the weapon is being held by, almost certainly a 5mm one, must be the mechanism for connecting it to the limb.

Just been catching up on this thread. Always have a soft spot for combiners of all descriptions. When do these actually come out?

I will lay a bet that the Combiner Wars pre orders will go up at BBTS this week when I can't get onthe interweb to order them, and inevitably sell out!
