Panini are starting up a Hulk CE from next month. When was the last time there was a Hulk comic on UK newsstands? Incredible Hulk Presents?

Technically Mighty World of Marvel has been the Hulk CE for a while. But....

HULK WILL SMASH PUNY NEWSSTAND! HULK IS STRONGEST COMIC THERE IS!
In other news, Batman Legends has started running Batman Inc, which I dropped due to the pricing on US comics and running out of space to store them. This should be a fine way to start reading it again.

Andu, have you got the latest FF Adventures? Turn to the back and look at the next issue cover. That's good Alan Davis squishy that is! Not yet. Trip into town tomorrow to pick it up. Andy And ..... ? Is it not a fab piece of art? I have seen the next issue FFA cover... and very nice indeed it is too! And sitting in a WHS near you right now. Still think it's fab!

Have you got the new Avengers Assemble #2? Find the double page spread of the Avengers sitting down to dinner, about 3/4 of the way through the book. The two Thing face panels at the bottom of the right hand page: superb, capture Ben superbly.

I have procured it, though I am behind on much of my Panini reading.

Yep, those panels do absolutely nail Ben. I take it that the ongoing line up for Avengers Assemble is going to be Avengers and New Avengers? At Paninni prices that would certainly work for me.

That seems to be the plan. They're not doing Secret Avengers, alas. I'll grab that digitally.
Bendis Avengers is ok but has too many annoying ticks for full price. At Panini prices or library loans it's ok.

Yep, those panels do absolutely nail Ben. They're just fabulous. Top Marks to Stuart Immonen. In the meanwhile I've figured out why I like the Galactus cover: it's a really different Galactus picture. You only ever see Galactus interacting with small humanoid figures or them looking up to him. Reed's all intertwined round Galactus and there's some real interaction between the two.

I think, for obvious reasons, there's going to be some FF in ASM. I'd rather see it in MWOM instead of Daredevil tho

MWOM would be a natural home for FF/Fantastic Four post-Shadowlands.
I will switch to trades for FF and Fantastic Four rather than digital though. Too pricey per issue digitally for me after being used to Panini prices! At least they finished running '3' before the axe fell though.
I had planned to write in as well, after they had asked for letters. Oh well.

Avengers Assemble ish 4: rounds off the initial story from the current run of New Avengers. Read in a couple of big chunks this is actually quite a good story, but I do feel comfortable with my decision to drop it in US singles at issue 2. In US format it was just to slow and nothing I have read here makes me think my opinion of it would have improved. But as a Pannini collectors edition it makes for a decent read, with some nice incidental humour (interviewing for a nanny for Jessica Jones' kid is marvellous). Another strike for my distinct preference for UK reprints over import US comics.

Avenger Assemble ish 7 Reprinting Avengers: Children's Crusade.... I'm off the opinion that the wheels came off the Young Avengers before the end of the original mini-series. This doesn't do anything to dissuade me from this view. A couple of moments stand out but in general it doesn't really do much for me.
The Incredible Hulks ish 4 Hmmm. Feels like Chaos War is one of those cross-overs that feels like it makes no sense if you aren't reading whatever the main story-arc is. Gets away with it because it plays into the running themes of loss and regret that have been present in previous issues, but the plot does feel like "bargle bargle bargle Hulks punch monsters". That is fine though, Hulks are good at smashing at I'll let the book of with an issue or so of random punching.

I was going to come and pass comment on that Avengers issue:I liked Young Avengers, loved it in fact. But this? This is just people arguing and acting like idiots. You get past one arguement and arrive at the next example of someone being an idiot firing off the next arguement.
Hulks: bought all 4 issues. Read none. Ooops.
