Roll Barm??
Who is Roll Barm?
The comic has gone Barmy?
In North West England they sometimes call rolls 'barms'. It's very confusing.

It's what the Oxford English Dictionary says. (The OED also says the first century is years 1-100 and the twentieth century 1901-2000, and the Collins Dictionary concurs www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/century . Leave the English language to the dictionary-makers, International Standards Organization!) Martin

TFUK also struggled when it came to what to do with a new year ending in 0.
At the start of 1989, Time Wars began with a story set on 1 January 2009.
A year later, at the start of 1990, the black & white future-based stories that Pinwig is currently reading are also set... on 1 January 2009! The tradition of setting future-based stories 20 years in the future has been ended! Although a whole year has past in the present-day stories, less than a day has passed in the future since Rodimus and his five pals went back in time to fight in the Time Wars, and of the six Autobots, only four survive - Rodimus, Kup, Arcee and Red Alert. Ultra Magnus was killed by Decepticons when he accidentally shot Scorponok, and Blurr died in 'Aspects of Evil: Galvatron'.
A busy 24 hours in story-land!
(TFwiki says Dreadwind declared in a letters page that the date was an error and should have read as 2010.)

30 Years Ago This Week: Issue #252 Yesterday's Heroes - Part 1: Optimus Prime cries in anguish after learning of the death of his old friend, Ratchet. He talks to his computer about the futility of war. It advises him to stop fighting. Outside, Kup and Hot Rod are concerned. On Cybertron, The Pretender Classics and the Rescue Patrol destroy a squad of Decepticons, noting how Ratchet's death has given the Autobot resistance movement a shot in the arm. Edge of Impact: While Red Alert tries to pilot the shuttle into the Earth's atmosphere, Kup goes hunting the saboteur. He finds Longtooth stood over the body of Rodimus and accuses him of treachery. Red Alert radios from the bridge to explain the retro rockets have to fire now if the ship isn't going to crash, but Arcee explains access to them has been sealed off. Kup quickly concocts a plan and while he tells Rodimus that Arcee is going to try and access the retro rockets by swimming through the coolant tanks, she actually goes via the air ducts instead. Kup then stands by the tanks and is dismayed to find Rodimus arrives to try and stop Arcee, revealing himself to be the saboteur. Red Alert lands the ship as well as he can but Rodimus, possessed by an evil force, attacks the Autobots. Elsewhere, Transformation reveals there are big changes coming to the comic so secret even the editorial team don't know what they are; also that an upcoming six-part story called Perchance to Dream will explain the current whereabouts of fan favourite characters Prowl, Ironhide, Sunstreaker, Wheeljack and Silverbolt; Sandstorm and Scavenger feature in the A-Z; and on the letters' page, Dreadwind tells Dominic Driver of Clitheroe that Thunderwing got his cyclone cannon from the Weapon Shops of Isher.
