The younger version of Indy's dad we see from the neck down was Mr Fantastic in the unreleased FF film.

I think I've come to the conclusion that culturally, the 90s are my least favourite of the decades I've been involved with.
(If by hub definitions the 90s still are a decade. Can't remember where we got to there)

30 Years Ago This Week: Issue #269 GI Joe and the Transformers: Power Struggle - Part 1: Superion demands Bumblebee's remains but the Joes attack. They make little impact however and Superion defends himself without hurting the humans. His power begins to decrease just as Blaster recalls him to the Ark, telling him Optimus Prime has been assassinated. As he leaves, the Joes wonder what happened. Mystery!: Skydive comes to relieve Wheeljack from guard duty but discovers him missing and signs of a scuffle instead. He imagines what might have happened and returns to the shuttle to raise the alarm. He sees a shadow and attacks, then discovering the shadow is actually Wheeljack. Wheeljack explains a series of coincidences that reveal there was no Decepticon, just him being clumsy. Elsewhere, Transformation tells readers they're sending their Classic Heroes competition entries to the wrong address and that they don't want them in the Transformers office; Silverbolt and Skids appear in the A-Z; Hasbro advertise the new Tiger Force Action Force subline; readers are offered a subscription to the Indiana Jones Adventure Club magazine for £2.90 and tokens printed in this issue and #272 (a saving of £1.05 on the regular price!); and on the letters' page, Dreadwind explains to 'Unicron' of Seabridge that a Combi-Micro is a Micromaster that combines with another one to make a bigger robot.

The tokens thing is a bit random. One token this week, the next in... three weeks' time if you want to join the Indiana Jones club, which no doubt you'll have forgotten about by then.

Rather fond of this story. Not me. It just struck me as too random and pointless. Also, it's trying to stun us with its randomness to slip past us the fact that the small Aerialbots are suddenly back! They were destroyed by Starscream along with Silverbolt, Silverbolt was brought back in 'Perchance to Dream' and volunteered to join Grimlock's new Earthforce in #263 and #265, but the other Aerialbots were nowhere to be seen when Grimlock was telling his version of the war to his new team. Suddenly the other four Aerialbots are alive and have been added to the rosta! OK, it was kind of inevitable given that they were back in the Classics toy range, and you could argue that their bond with Silverbolt allowed them to awaken when he did... but it annoyed me that it was never even mentioned. Up until this story it was just Silverbolt running around with the Classic Heroes. Martin

Yeah, but I didn’t think like that as a kid. I just took each story as it came, and a paranoid dude with an overactive imagination made for a fun wee story. Certainly more so than the Joe dreck it’s paired with. It was one of the first reprints I managed to pick up as well, those little ‘manga’ sized books, remember them?
I dunno, it’s fluff, but it stayed with me. And then I got to help out with the recolour, too!

Sadly I knew my Aerialbot character profiles too well even as a kid, and knew that Skydive was smarter than that. www.ntfa.net/universe/english/index.php?act=view&char=SkydiveHe has intelligence 10 and as Aerialbot second-in-command he is the Prowl of the air! Edit: Great job on the colouring, though. Martin

Yeah, looking back on it now it makes more sense for it to have been someone like Red Alert, but... toys ta sell, I guess.
