Elsewhere, Transformation informs readers that Dreadwind is still refusing to come out of his office, so Blaster has been installed in the room next door; Dreadwind is Donald Trump! It all makes sense! They both have names that suggest farting, after all. I love that cover, though Jetfire appears oddly placed. And is that Hot Rod's head on a spike?? Martin

Notice how much more violent the Autobots are than the Decepticons on this cover. They are the ones pointing guns! I think you'll find that's because Starscream is actually shooting at them. Martin

I tried to put the Polish letter into Google translate, thinking we have tools these days back then we could only dream of, but I reckon it was typed up inaccurately because it doesn't really make sense.

30 Years Ago This Week: Issue #301 Legacy of Unicron 6.2 Reprinted from #152 Rhythms of Darkness - Part 4: The Autobots fall one by one as they try to attack the base until Galvatron appears and destroys Cyclonus for failing to finish the Autobots off. Jazz launches himself at Galvatron but is brushed off. A satellite relays the turmoil to the European Crisis Coalition in Geneva, who decide to launch a nuclear attack to stop the madness but hold off when they see Spike unfurl an American flag on the top of the Decepticon base. At that moment, Hook, Line and Sinker appear and subdue Galvatron, taking him to Unicron. Left alone, Prowl, Jazz and Inferno decide to fight for Earth's freedom. Elsewhere, Transformation implores readers to buy the new Transformers annual as a Christmas treat; Colin takes on a hoard of demons from the darkest netherworld; all of the current strips unusually come to an end at the same time; Shredded Wheat advertise Nintendo Sticker Scratchbooks; and on the letters' page, Blaster tells readers to look out for new Motorvator and Exo-Suit Vehicle Transformers coming next year.

The UK strip may be over but we enter a new era of greatness for UK art now as some of the most striking covers of the entire run appear. This one is a great example of the late trend of different *types* of covers: more literate, added depths and meanings.

Yes, I love this cover. One of my favourites from the whole 332.
I did read the Joe strip. It goes in one ear and out the other though. No wait, in one eye and out the other. No wait, in one eye and out an ear... in one eye and out the nose?

I haven't detailed the Joe strip at all doing this. Just the occasional mention. I don't think I could do it justice. I know about as much about GI Joe as Shockprowl does about Transformers.

Jazz pretty much spouts every Furmanism in this issue in one sentence!

HEY! ...........umm, yeah ok, fair enough. THAT IS SUCH A GREAT COVER!!! HISTORICAL!!! I've never read Rhythms of Darkness. I probably should. Especially if Prowl's in it. Who's the forth 'Bot featured in that amazing cover?

I think it's confusing because the cover makes it look like he's alive, but I think in the story it does say Galvatron rants at his corpse. I definitely need to read Rhythms of Darkness if Rodimus 'Prime' dies in it! Fairly horribly by the looks of things!

It is Getaway.
For failure to recognise a G1 Autobot, for failing to read RoD... Go to your room!

It is Getaway. For failure to recognise a G1 Autobot, for failing to read RoD... Go to your room! Getaway would have been my guess! But Prowl, Jazz, Inferno and... Getaway? Seemed an odd mix.

Well, I'm not sure now. That scene with Getaway seems familiar, but I've read about the death and dismemberment of Rodimus 'Prime'. I'd have remembered that! And I also would have remembered the Prowl and Jazz stuff.

Yes, in various collections since circa 2002!!! Marvel Tf hasn't been out of print since then!

30 Years Ago This Week: Issue #302 In the National Interest 1.1 Reprinted from #75 The Human Factor - Part 1: GB Blackrock shows footage of an unknown human taking down the Air Strike Patrol to Lee Gruber and Katrina Vesotzky, the first two recruits in his new team of superhumans he intends to use to take down the Decepticons. The pair depart to try and find 'Mister X'. Elsewhere, Transformation reveals the sorry tale of Ebeneezer Dreadwind; In The National Interest begins a repeat run; GI Joe start an Alliance of Convenience; Colin tales a Christmas break from fighting the demons of the netherworld; and on the letters' page, Blaster agrees with Paul Owen of Chorlton's applause for Staz's recent covers, commenting they helped the comic through a "tricky editorial changeover".

Another super cover. Praise be to whoever discovered Caxton Bold at this point. Given Blaster talks about an editorial change (and the tone of the letter answering has changed completely suggesting that) do we know anything about what was going on behind the scenes at this point?

Of course, but they're only employees. Who was the editor at that point, and does the narrative imply there was real disharmony behind the scenes...
