New repro labels spin off - backdrops for toy displays. toystages.com/mainmenu/index.php?id_category=56&controller=categoryThis idea has been in the back of my head since I saw the SDCC Ark. I'd half thought about having a go myself by drawing over some screenshots from the cartoon in photoshop, but some of these look great. I think I need a few. Hope this is successful and they evolve more complex designs like the ark.

These Ikea Detolf display cases that seem to be so popular, are they air tight? I mean do toys in display still need dusting? They seem pretty cheap for what they are (£40?). I've got displays in a case or two, but small gaps round the edges of the doors mean eventually the whole lot has to come out for dusting.

There's a gap in the door, so alas things do need dusting occasionally

Some of those are quite nice. If I ever got my finger out and displayed my Transformers properly I would definitely go for a few of them.

I've been doing some poking around that site, and looking at some of the other stuff they do - the carrier background is rather nice, and if I had Detolf's I suspect I would invest in some of those for proper display of some of my Macross stuff.

Car stores sell brushes that are useful for dusting toys as they're designed to get into a car's dash board's nooks and crannies. Thread derail over! Space battle is a neat idea based on the back of box art, but a little too much going on. Some of the episode homages are nice, like the space bridge.

That's a great tip for the car duster brush. Didn't Sifu once speak of success using a shaving brush? Or something like a shaving brush...
And yes, great displays.

Yeah, I use a dusting brush for my Transformers. Or I did, when they were on display, and not still in boxes. Makes me feel like an archaeologist. But one with a fun job.
Anyway, yes, these are genius ideas. The big question, though, is: Will they fit inside a Detolf? I'm assuming that we'll discover the answer to this soon...

Yes, I think the display case option is specifically for Detolfs. It said that somewhere.
It was indeed Sifu who had a shaving brush in one of his pictures which made me realise what it was for. I swear by mine now. It's brilliant. But I am always interested in hearing about other options so I'm going to have to look for these car brushes now.

They're essentially shaving brushes, but with slightly thicker bristles, smaller head and longer handle so slightly easier to get into nooks and crannies.

Hrm, looking at the pictures they're not tailored too well to the Detolfs. They appear too short leaving a gap betwen shelves, no floor and it'd be nicer if they had the option to have side walls if your case is in your room's corner.
