Already up for pre-order on Kapow. £150. Having picked up the Acid Storm version of the mould, I can honestly say: yer all right.

If I can find it cheaper, maybe. Not quite ready to splash £150 on that mould.

I saw that and thought, what? another one?! but then when I thought about it I realised that Takara themselves haven't done a general retail reuse of that mould yet, just the Amazon Sunstorm. It's Hasbro who've done Thundercracker/Acid Storm/Sunstorm.
And then I remembered I never got Hasbro Thundercracker and wondered if he'll follow in Jan 2016 (Asia reissue MP11 was Jan this year) and then I wondered if I want to spend £300 on completing an MP11 mould seeker lineup.
Why so much? nice Skywarp colours, better looking than the Hasbro Skywarp from MP03, but Asia reissue Starscream was £120 over here this year. Why has Skywarp gone up 30 quid?
Really do want, but frustrated by the potential price (Omegalock may undercut Kapow, they usually do).

Well, it's all too expensive for this handsome young Transformers collector. I'll stick with my conplete MP-3 Strike Plane line-up. Pop the fin jobbies off and they're pretty spot on to me. I'd sell my children for the 3 Cone-heads though. Has/Tak have to know folkes would lap them up.

Really do want, but frustrated by the potential price Seriously, I'm starting to regret being obsessed with toys, and not focussing my energies on hookers and blackjack instead. It may turn out that I've picked the more expensive hobby. It starts off cheap just to draw you in, and then, and then, then the global economy fluctuates and petroleum prices rise. Which is the accurate, if less dramatic end of the story. Even so. £150 for a toy. I understand about inflation and all, but... damn.

Heh. Currency fluctations are an old story to me. It is what cut off my burgeoning Macross collection for a while. Comparing a Masterpiece Skywarp to other things that are around (assuming it is still the near-as-matters 1/60th scale of the original version) then that price range is actually relatively competitive for that kind of size of transformable toy. What is noticeable for me is the paucity of extra gubbins and accessories that the Masterpiece Jets seem to come with. Comparing the "Gunpods, matched set, one (1) and Dual Sidewinder rails, matched set (non-removeable missiles) matched set, one(1)" to the sheer variety of ordnance that came with even the old 1/60th scale Valkyries, before I go near the 1/60th YF-19 with its seemingly endless supply of weapons rails and weapons the Tomy offerings do seem a little underspecified in the accessories department. That said, I was able to get the previous Masterpiece Skywarp for twenty quid or so when it came out over here so I am well-served on that score, and it doesn't seem like it offers any real upgrade over that version to make me tempted to replace one with t'other. I'll stick with my conplete MP-3 Strike Plane line-up. Pop the fin jobbies off and they're pretty spot on to me. They must look a little odd in fighter mode... :-) Karl

Wonder if I can force myself to cling to this very sensible reasoning and keep away from this one. After all, it is effectively a retool of a toy we already have. I need Thundercracker more to finish the trio.

These sections simply mass-shift during transformation on the REAL Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp....

Mind you, my Skywarp is in humanoid mode for the first time in a couple of years and I quite like having the tail booms there, I've been experimenting with streaming them downwards as if they are counterbalancing the backwards bent legs (I like the flight stand that comes with these too, it allows some playing about with poses. Yes I like the 'hovering in robot mode' pose, I find it very menacing. I can't remember who said it on here, but someone said they like the look of the 'fin-jobbies' in robot mode because they reminded him of sword scabbards, which is a good thought.

I said that and I think Crazy did too. It makes them being there bearable. Keep it up chaps, you're steering me away from the buy button on the new one. So far. Still curious to know how much Omegalock will undercut Kapow though.

Ahh I thought it might have been you, Pinwig my good cyber pal!
I've studied comparison images between the two MP Strike Plane molds, and indeed it's been discussed on here with good insight from several of my cyber chumbs. The newer mold is the superior, but only just, imo. The older mold is more than adequate. With or without fin-jobby-scabbard-bits.
The three of them together is one of the most iconic and nostalgic of all TF images to me.

There's another version of this coming out, Asia exclusive with Megatron pistol accessory. Kapow want 15999 of your Great British pennies. Yep, £160. I'm tempted because I prefer the heads on the MP11 molds, the earlier ones are too small. Do I want it that badly though? Do I? If I get it that means I'll only be 1 MP-11T away from having the 3 of them in both molds. And subsequently another Acid Storm away from being able to dual display the core (non-Coneheadj) strike planes. www.kapowtoys.co.uk/transformers-asia-exclusive-mp11sw-masterpiece-skywarp.html

Because it's a great figure. I think this is a straight rerelease of the last Asia one. I did buy that in the end, it's the same mould as all the others, yes, but it's a glorious Skywarp. I sold my MP3 mould version to bring the cost down and didn't regret it.

I remember those days... My feelings on this remain unchanged - I think it is less interesting than the original version so I've no inclination to replace that.
(Which reminds me, was their a Thundercracker version of the original MP F-15 mould? I've never seen one in collection pictures or anything so I was wondering)

There is. Takara only released as MP07. It's as plain as unsalted crisps dipped in water though. When the west got the TRU exclusive Masterpiece Thundercracker, Hasbro used the MP11 mold.
