Hasbro's problem with Prowl when it comes to Europe

Apparently Hasbro UK (or Hasbro Europe in general) has a problem with Prowl. Or rather, his alternate mode, a police cruiser sporting a largely Japanese police car deco.

Back in 2005, the upcoming Alternators Prowl toy was first announced by Hasbro UK at the UK Toy Fair. This was a month before Hasbro US officially announced the toy at New York Toy Fair. And then in mid-2005, Hasbro UK suddenly stated that Alternators Prowl would not see a UK release "because children in the UK would not recognize it as a police car".

Oddly, a reissue of G1 Prowl was part of a the "second coming" of the Commemorative Series in the UK in 2006, after the line had already been discontinued in the US (all the figures released in the UK in 2006 had never been available in the UK before, and the packaging now lacked the "Commemorative Series" title).

The Beast Hunters Deluxe and Cyberverse Legion figures and Prowl were also released in the UK and Germany.

But now the Curse of the Prowl has struck again: Masterpiece Prowl and Sunstorm were supposed to see a release in Europe:

But while Sunstorm has been released in the UK and Germany, Prowl has been canceled:

In fairness, the RRP on Masterpiece Prowl at Toys'r'us was more than the cost of buying the Japanese one, including postage. Why buy locally when it's cheaper to import?

It's also cheaper to buy the imported version from UK-based stores! £55 for the Takara version from Kapow, £60 RRP on the Hasbro one!
