One day I must add G1 Baldius to my collection to go with the UW one. Ha! Sorted that two years later...

Anyway, why I'm here. Three years ago I bought a Metroplex at TFN from the Fu. Two years ago I bought the Aerialbots, so - two years in the making... today I finally combined them! This is the stuff of dreams!

Why is Dragstrip always first though? First in Combiner Wars, first here. ....maybe first elsewhere but I haven't done any research on the subject.... (If he was first in the SPECIAL TEAMS sticker book thing I'll loose the very confusion in my mind!) I don't know if he was the first ever Stunticon, but he was the only Stunticon you could send off for with Weetabix. Does anyone still have their Special Teams sticker card poster on their wall? Have a look and see if Dragstrip was Stunticon number 1. I seem to remember the group leaders weren't number ones.

I’m sure their numbers were shown clearly on their packaging.
Were the leaders all number 5?

Hi, I'm Menasor, and these are my 73 spare limbs. Each one of them is a little dude! Well, for you guys, I guess they'd be regular sized dudes. And I guess for the squishes, they'd be giant dudes. You know what? Forget thier size. I'm Menasor and these are my 73 dudes.
A couple of 'em are married.

A couple of 'em are married. That's a fanzine right there! Married Special Teams limbs! Can you imagine the arguments. Blueshift - next year! Wildrider, can you put the bins out? Why me? I did it last week. Because you're the bloody foot! I can't walk, I'm an arm! But I can't wheel it out! I'm a foot! You've got the sodding hand!

This explains the Euro Constructicons, their relationships had completely broken down.
Things were going even worse for Rescue Force.

I'm certain Dead End was Stunticon no.1 Then Breakdown (2) then Wildrider (3) and Dragstrip was no. 4 Motormaster was, of course, no. 5 because by then it was too late to realise that the combined robot wasn't that much bigger.

One of the finest free gifts ever given with any publication. Though it would have been better still if they'd remembered Superion's pants and Bruticus's head. (And several other lesser transformation issues that I'm sure no-one here is sad enough to list.) Martin

Yes, the lack of Bruticus's hat is a shame, but nothing could detract from what a magnificent sight that was on unfolding it from the centre pages.
Thinking about it, there's scope for a poster sized recreation that fixes the mistakes. A spot on duplicate that is differentiated from the original only by having correct transformations. I'd buy that.

That would be cool.
A heretical change would be to do two posters and include Metroplex/Trypticon as centre pieces. Although that might get cluttered.

Post by Philip Ayres on May 15, 2022 13:14:36 GMT
One on each of the three quarters.
In the fourth? A nice checklist for the whole range, or a diorama shot, or an also available pic?
