On a similar note, I was following this Decepticon in the car yesterday... Not sure who it is?? A red Decepticon hatch back, not sure there have been any of those...

Which combiners have fake heads for use in connection to body as legs or arm
Fake heads -
Street wise has the red one under the bonnet. Light Speed as the white one on under side of car. Blast Off - top of shuttle. Vortex - chest area.
Not sure about Brawl - does his head swing under the front of the tank?
Ones that dont have fake heads & use the normal head for both arm & leg connect -
Blades, Firstaid, Groove [tricky for legs], Swindle, Afterburner, Nosecone, Fireflight, Dead end, Break down, Overbite, Constructicons [G1 & Universe] {that covers all the limbs that me & my friends had}

The Seacons also had additional "heads" which swung out.
Out of interest, how many limbs did you and your friends collect over the years?

Its was only the above - with just Hotspot for the body. The Constructicons being the knockoff set i picked up - but also include the Universe 99p ones seeing they still combine - but they dont use heads to link themselves together - you can say the same for the Constructicons who dont use heads - mainly due to them all have slide away heads.
But Overbite's head folded down for use as arm/gun - or stayed up for leg. Didn't have any other seacons.
My friend was too busy with his PM Optimus Prime, High Brow & Hardhead.

doesnt Afterburn have a false head on the back part of his bike mode? I used to have him, and I'm sure I saw that (or i'm crazy)

False heads??? I...I don't understand. -Ralph Basically, some of the Scramble City combiner limbs have two distinct of connectors. One that the head forms the end of and one that is just a box shape that slots into the hole on the torso robot. (It isn't really a case of their being two heads on any of them as there are no moulded details or anything on the second connectors - they are just oblongs of plastic basically). Karl

'Nova, I think you might be the only person who calls the posts, "heads".
Brawl has one. It's on his underside, hidden by his chest in robot mode.

I was thinking about this a while ago and all the combiner talk reminded me. How many possible combinations of Scramble City gestaults can be made?
Limbs 4 Arerialbots 4 Protectorbots 4 Stunticons 4 Combaticons 4 Technobots 4Terrorcons 5 Seacons
So 29 limbs on 7 different bodies. Thats gotta be a crazy number of combinations. Anyone remember how to do the maths?
If you take repaints it must get utterly bonkers (not including classics and reissues) 8 Arerialbots 12 Protectorbots 5 Stunticons 20 Combaticons (at least) 4 Technobots 4 Terrorcons 14 Seacons
67 limbs, 15 bodies. Am I missing any?

They're are the same shape has the heads [if anyone used stickers on them. Didn't some have head stickers - or was that just Starscream] I know they are different sizes, but if anyone had but a face on them - but if anyone has ever tried connecting them up to 2 leaders at the same time.
Only had Light speed so don't know if the others had other fold out parts.

Also remember to have Seacon set hands so you can have one for a gun too [maybe not a Seacon? If anyone makes a gun from the others]

Just tried working out all the combinations for a single team, I got to 24. 15 different scramble teams. So its already 360 before you even start mixing and matching.
Is it possible there are more combinations than toy produced? Certainly for the TFCC Seacons at 1250 or 2000 and Botcon Breakdown at 300 or something.

Okay, some maths.
If there are 67 limbs, then for _each_ body there would be 67*66*65... and so on (or the factorial of 67) combinations.
That number is 3.64711109 × 10^94
And if there are 15 bodies, multiply the above by 15.
To get 5.47066664 × 10^95
If we assume it takes one minute to re-arrange and pause to reflect briefly on each toy combination (providing the limbs and bodies are "ready").
It would take you 1.04084221 × 10^90 years.
We don't live that long.
My maths is probably up the wazoo, as it's been many years since I did factorials at school, so I've probably applied it incorrectly. But it's a start!

Isn't it 67! - 63! as there are only 4 limbs per combiner.
This assumes that having a limb in one position is the same as having it in another, e.g. left-arm->right-leg.
Also... This doesn't include using different accessories, like heads/feet/fists on different combined forms, but I'll let your brain dribble out of your ears when you consider that.

Actually I think it is 63 as the Protectorbots only got one repaint. I was including G2. Seacons got 5 limb-bots in two releases and only four in the other. Botcon 94 had G2 Breakdown.

Best combined TF team member robot mode? Yeah it's a long title but let me explain.....
A replacement ROTF Superion arrived today so I got to swap out my damaged Airazor for a replacement.
After I did this I transformed Airazor into robot mode. Hey this is quite good think I.....
Which got me thinking....
If you're like me your Gestalt style combiners - Devastator, any Scramble City/Special Team, Monstructor/Dino King, Micromaster & Energon combiners - probably spend most of their time in combined mode. But which component of these is the best individual robot ?

Interesting question! Hmm. On first thoughts, I always loved Snap Trap. I thought he was really well proportioned, nice colours, and cool accessories. and his mouth opened nicely in beast mode and the pom-pom gun action was great. He looks great in robot mode too.

Not me. I keep my Constructicons separated, and actually think they'd stand up pretty well as toys of that size and era even if they couldn't combine with one another. I think Scavenger is my favourite, due to his articulated scoop arm and rotating top half vehicle mode... and the way you can put his big silver drill either on the top of the vehicle or attached to the front, the latter making him an articulated drill vehicle thing. Oh! And he can replace the drill with a giant purple fist that he can fire at his enemies! Robot mode isn't too bad either. Plenty of chrome. Still, I'm sure toy technology has moved on in the centuries since I stopped collecting. Martin

Hmmm. I own fewer combiners than I used to but of those I have owned I would have to say that I am rather partial to Onslaught/Dolrailer/Mega-Octane. He has a great silhouette in humanoid mode, with the twin cannon reaching up over his head, good proportions and, all things considered, decent poseability for his era.
