So what are you predicting, hoping for, or resolving to do regarding all things Transformers for 2015? Hopes- Combiner Wars sells well enough here to see the line right through & toy shops reappraise the market for TF collector lines.
- TRU losing exclusivity on the Generations line doesn't mean they drop ALL TRU exclusives.
- Takara keep the Masterpiece cars ticking over by giving us Jazz & Cliffjumper.
- Takara surprise us with another '86 Movie era Masterpiece figure, like Kup or Cyclonus.
- Takara/Hasbro fix MP09 properly and we get an Asia reissue that has the trailer AND Offshoot. (Come on! surely Magnus being out means this has to happen)
- The rumours of the Devastator Titan boxset are true; it's six deluxes with a Hook & Long Haul having a special link to connect them and the four limbs use the same combiner mechanism as the special teams.
- Fans Toys get Soar & Sever out and give us a sight of Sludge.
- Planet X don't wait as long to release their next Dino as they did between Caelus & Neptune.
- Warbotron's finished Bruticus is worth the money/wait.
Resolutions- Break the MISB curse and open toys when I buy them.
- Moderate third party buying because it's so flippin expensive.
- Get back up to date with reading IDW's titles, starting with a re-read from the beginning.
- Make more progress on filling gaps in my 84-86 Dream Teams.
- Continue to read TF:UK on each issue's 30th anniversary.

Good thread.
Resolutions: No resolutions as such, my spending is well under (Mrs Shockers) control. I've decided to move on more figures, particularly from my C.H.U.G. collection to stream-line. I don't play with half of them. For years I've building up a complete '84/'85 collection. But recently realised this doesn't float my boat any more. I have plans for my 'Classics'.
Hopes: Yes, please keep the Masterpiece Autobot cars coming. Jazz and a GOOD Ratchet/Ironhide are desperates.
Keep Generations Legends coming. Kickback, Beachcomber, Seaspray. And a more G1y Bumblebee perhaps.
Combiner Wars! Really excited to get Menasor, and the rumured Defensor. And I hope to see the Terrorcons and 6 member Constructicons. I've decided to leave Superion and any Combaticons.
I'm thrilled there's a Prowl on the way and can't wait to see more on him. I'd hope there's a Jazz and Wheeljack and maybe a Ratchet in there to complete a bit of a dream team. A Decepticon set would be welcome.
Biggest hope is that Apollyon is another Quakewave.
Predictions: Err, not sure really. Just what we've discussed re Combiner Wars. Combiner Wars will make 2015 a good year.

Predictions: CW will sell really well. We've gpot a pretty good idea what the rest of the year looks like in terms of Proetctobots, Autobot car combiner, but there's some question marks over 5th and 6th Voyager.
I think we'll see Combaticons late 15/early 16 with Onslaught as a Hotspot repaint.
I'd love to see a "Destron Sixwing" style Decepticon jet combiner repaint of Superion. I have money for you Hasbro.
I think we'll see a Roller as a blue Blackjack repaint.
I hope we'll see Legends Skywarp. The west never saw a Legend/Legion sized Skywarp. I hope we get Kickback and a Legends Brawn.
I think Devastator will happen, with the correct connectors, but the limbs will only be able to sit in the position the use for Devastator, IE Scavenger an arm, Scrapper a leg etc etc.
Either Superion or Devastator will get a G2 SDCC exclusive
Leader Ultra Magnus.
Here's what I'd love to see: a G2 Megatron tank combiner core Voyager, complete with tank front chest. Easy Archforce and Bludgeon repaints.

Prediction: Hasbro UK will not sell something vital at a crucial moment. So IF CW makes it past wave 1, at least one team will get shorted their combiner torso or limbs

Since they're set on combiners, my hopes for the year are DOA.
Before that was announced, I HAD hoped for an escalation in the Beast Wars and more UT, and maybe the real RiD.
There's not going to be anything too terribly exciting or unpredictable now.

BW has a varible track record on new versions. Almost all of RID was up to scratch anyway, and when they get there a Ruination from CW Bruticus is practically a given.
And as for UT.... Cybertron is pretty good, The only Energon toys that really need doing are the Powerlinx ones, and then you either have to loose the gimmick or go whole hogg like they're doing with Combiners.
There's a few Armada redos that I'd like with better articulation and 5mm hands: Demolishor, Cyclonus, Sideays, Smokescreen, Blurr, Thrust and Sideswipe could all do with upgrades.

RiD: Virtually every mold of consequence is dead and gone. Plus, Legends Spychangers. Sideburn with the plotted retool being idw earthmode hotrod for an example of what they could do. And I strongly disagree that Ruination is a given since THEY HAVE NOT TOUCHED HIM SINCE RID. They even stole his name and gave it to another combiner that arguably shouldn't exist. They haven't touched him with the Bruticus Maximus molds, or the FoC Bruticus molds in the half dozen pointless repaints of it. |

So how are we doing in 2015, passed the halfway point?
CW giving us some good stuff, but we're a couple of hopes short. No Megatron core... but a big surprise in Sky Lynx. Still more we want out of them.
Devastator is a must buy.
No sign of a Legends Kickback to complete the Insecticons, ffs. No Beachcomber, no Seaspray, no Brawn...
MP-wise, well, they've given us Ironhide/Ratchet, but I for one have grave concerns.
3P, Fanstoys have shown us Sludge, and their Grimlock. Lots of MP cars coming out, lots of other stuff, Impactor, all kicking off.
Good year though. Another good year next year with Titan Wars and friends. And by good I mean expensive. But please fill in those blanks, Hasbro.

Mine were more hopes than predictions because most were never going to happen, but the three 3P ones all have. Soar & Sever are here with me and we've seen Sludge. Summanus was out really fast, and Quirinus(?) Slag is starting to ship now. And Warbotron is sublime. I look at him every day and smile. Mind you I'm still of a mind that Devastator would have been better as deluxes. I know it would throw out the vehicle modes for scale, but... sigh. He's just so big. |

It's obvious he was intended to be deluxes. Keep the price, make them deluxes, and really go to town on not cheaping out on the engineering and design. Mixmaster is actually shockingly bad. What a mess. Vehicle mode is ok-ish, but robot and leg mode are terrible. I wonder why the designers went in that direction? What was going through their heads? Cost? What saves them on cost between this design or an updated G1y design, which the other Constructicons have been given?

Mixmaster is actually shockingly bad. What a mess. Vehicle mode is ok-ish, but robot and leg mode are terrible. Whereas for me Mixmaster's vehicle mode fails the "not enough like the original" test. |
