Makes arse flaps look good.... I have no doubt, in my house, that the Constructicons will spend very little time in their generally poor individual robot modes. It's all about Devastator. I might wind up the opposite. I went for the Unite version because I imagine they'll spend plenty of time in individual robot modes. Mixmaster is essentially poor but front on doesnt look totally terrible. The rest though I think look great. Scrapper is just about perfect. It falls somewhere between classic and Masterpiece to me. Scavenger, Hook and Bonecrusher are nearly as good, but are based on toys that I dont think are as good as the original Scrapper. Long Haul is a reinvention, but one that improved on the original. Dr Wu Mixmaster is a possibility though.

I'm always vastly amused at moans online about the individual robots when most folk will have the thing in Devastator mode most of the time anyway. It's like when folk moaned about no elbow joints. Then the Unite Warriors ones are revealed with elbow joints but folk still moan and demand a third party version anyway. There's just no way Hasbro/Tomy can ever win.

Hopes 2015
- Combiner Wars sells well enough here to see the line right through & toy shops reappraise the market for TF collector lines.
Kind of I suppose, but we didn't get Menasor obviously. The fact wave 4 appeared though is impressive.
- TRU losing exclusivity on the Generations line doesn't mean they drop ALL TRU exclusives.
Were there any TRU exclusives in the US? we didn't get Quickslinger & Brakeneck over here.
- Takara keep the Masterpiece cars ticking over by giving us Jazz & Cliffjumper.
Well they're keeping it going, but not with those two.
- Takara surprise us with another '86 Movie era Masterpiece figure, like Kup or Cyclonus
Or Hot Rod. Again. I'd never have dared hope for Shockwave mind you.
- Takara/Hasbro fix MP09 properly and we get an Asia reissue that has the trailer AND Offshoot. (Come on! surely Magnus being out means this has to happen)
Every year I wish for this, but maaaaaaybe now? movie anniversary?
- The rumours of the Devastator Titan boxset are true; it's six deluxes with a Hook & Long Haul having a special link to connect them and the four limbs use the same combiner mechanism as the special teams.
Turned out to be even better.
- Fans Toys get Soar & Sever out and give us a sight of Sludge.
- Planet X don't wait as long to release their next Dino as they did between Caelus & Neptune.
- Warbotron's finished Bruticus is worth the money/wait.
These three all happened. Infact Planet X got two more out. Resolutions
- Break the MISB curse and open toys when I buy them.
Not done tremendously well with this, but better. Some toys were opened.
- Moderate third party buying because it's so flippin expensive.
Averaged one a month. Not very moderate...
- Get back up to date with reading IDW's titles, starting with a re-read from the beginning.
Erm...
- Make more progress on filling gaps in my 84-86 Dream Teams.
Did reasonably well. Added 10.
- Continue to read TF:UK on each issue's 30th anniversary.
Yep.

Prediction: Hasbro UK will not sell something vital at a crucial moment. So IF CW makes it past wave 1, at least one team will get shorted their combiner torso or limbs Phil is the oracle. Three teams were shorted: Aerialbots, Stunticons and the Autobot car one (Battle Core Optimus from that combiner MIA). And in Edinburger, impossible to find all the members of Defensor. Actually now that I think of it, had I wanted to it would have been impossible to complete even one CW combiner at local retail! -Ralph

Good thread. Resolutions: No resolutions as such, my spending is well under (Mrs Shockers) control. I've decided to move on more figures, particularly from my C.H.U.G. collection to stream-line. I don't play with half of them. For years I've building up a complete '84/'85 collection. But recently realised this doesn't float my boat any more. I have plans for my 'Classics'. Hopes: Yes, please keep the Masterpiece Autobot cars coming. Jazz and a GOOD Ratchet/Ironhide are desperates. Keep Generations Legends coming. Kickback, Beachcomber, Seaspray. And a more G1y Bumblebee perhaps. Combiner Wars! Really excited to get Menasor, and the rumured Defensor. And I hope to see the Terrorcons and 6 member Constructicons. I've decided to leave Superion and any Combaticons. I'm thrilled there's a Prowl on the way and can't wait to see more on him. I'd hope there's a Jazz and Wheeljack and maybe a Ratchet in there to complete a bit of a dream team. A Decepticon set would be welcome. Biggest hope is that Apollyon is another Quakewave. Predictions: Err, not sure really. Just what we've discussed re Combiner Wars. Combiner Wars will make 2015 a good year. Well, how did my TF hopes and stuff work out? CW Prowl certainly delivered, what a smashing Prowl. Whitejack may look sh1t, but hopefully he'll be better in the plastic, but generally I loved the CW cars repainted as Autobots. Great move, Hasbollocks, keep 'em coming! I need a Jazz and a Ratchet to complete a bit of a dream-team. I've given up on a Megatron core and 'Con Jet limbs. It's not going to happen. Move on, Shockprowl. Apollyon isn't quite a Quakewave, but he filled such a HUGE hole, he's worth double. His arm/shoulder joints have become looser over time, but not that much. I haven't had to do 'the fix' that one can do. HE LOOKS INCREDIBLE. I still CAN NOT believe there is no new-size Masterpiece Megatron. It baffles me. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: IT IS MEGATRON!!!! HOW CAN THERE NOT BE A MEGATRON IN A G1 MAJOR LINE?!?!?! Menasor is fantatic. But I stopped with him and the Autobots, more for space than finance/wife-rage. Combiner Wars, for all it's faults, has been excellent. I do plan to get a Silverbolt, I've been gripped by the PERCHANCE TO DREAM DREAM-TEAM, and he is required. And having already got Cyclonus, I know just how good the mold really is. Mega-Superion (he may need a new name...) will be awesome! I haven't an Optimus though in CW. With no Megatron, and no Jets, I just don't need him. Classics is sufficient facing off against Hegemon. Missed chance there though, Hasbollocks. Masterpiece Ratchet and Ironhide. Oh boy. Errrr.... ahhh, I don't like the look of them. AT ALL. I just pray they're better in the plastic. Still no Jazz. And, for FRAK'S sake, no Legends Beachcomber, Seaspray or KICKBACK!!!! COME ON!!!! Good year though. Devastator. Wow. And my collection has been greatly reduced. I'd say..... around.... halved...? Feels good. I just didn't ever play with them! I just... didn't care about them anymore. They've gone to better homes. My collecting requirements/habits have changed, and less is more.

TakTom can't even contemplate releasing a Masterpiece Megatron that doesn't actually turn into a mass-shifting murder weapon. On the plus side, I think it's pretty safe to say that, even as I type this, the TakTom think-tank are currently getting ever closer to perfecting mass-shifting...

I remember only because I hope for that every year. It's the one MP mould I've always wanted but haven't wanted to spend the premium to get it. I knew it would be reissued eventually. So pleased!
