I got a new computer but I'm finding vista a bit awkward, I can't see thumbnails of any images? My scanner won't scan, though it is working. Also what's the best graphics card for a Dell inspiron 531. I don't think it has a AGP slot?

I've no idea how to help their Kev. Getting a new pc myself and stuidously avoiding vista for a good two years until they can make it work properly.

I am a bit clueless with computers, but I am on Vista. What are you trying to do with images?

It won't show any thumbnails, no matter what view setting.

You need to motor if you want a new PC with windows xp installed, isn't there some cut off date for selling xp at around the end of the month ?

It's already ordered and will be with me around the 25th of the month.

It won't show any thumbnails, no matter what view setting. I'm at a loss to explain that, sorry. -Ralph

I've got a problem myself in that the recycle bin has vanished from my desktop and I can't find it, which means I can't delete anything. I can't figure this out at all. Help!

Can't you just right-click on the thing you want to delete, and click 'delete'?
(Never used Vista.)

Try the system restore option in control panel if vista has one and it should bring it back.

I pressed lots of buttons in panic and it came back. No idea what I did.

Just as a humorous aside: I recently read in some computer magazine that even Microsoft execs couldn't get Vista to work right. Time to buy a Mac or switch over to Linux.

I have accidentally deleted the bin from the desktop again, and can't remember how to get it back. Crap.

I haven't got Vista but I'm sure that some of the functions from previous versions of Windows are still there. If so, try the Search function (on Windows XP its in the Start menu) and type in 'recycle bin'. Once you have found it you can then pin it back to your desktop.

That, alas, did not work.
But I found my bin again. Hurrah.
