Your Post Toy Fair Purchase List

So. What a whirlwind of a Fair! Just about blew my pants off it did. And thanks again to the mighty powers of The Big Phil. As Doc' said, The TMUK Hub was the place to be this Fair.


Lots of reveals, lots to spend our hard earned money on. Lots of angry wives/girl friends etc.

So what's on your purchase list following the Fair? Who will you risk Wife-Rage to own?


Me? Well, I already plan to get the Stunticons.

The Protectobots are well and truly on the list.

And I must have Devastator.

Ultra Magnus... I don't see how I can resist. I should try to resist, but I really don't think I'll be able to.

Warpath I'll resist, stick with my delux. Viper? If I get one I'll want an army of them, so.....

Cyclonus hasn't made the cut though, as impressive as he is.

I haven't discussed this before, but I hadn't been planing on getting CW Optimus. I think the mold suits Motor Master and I have to draw the line somewhere. But who the heck is CW Prowl gonna combine with?! I don't I think I'll be able to resist the Mirage, Ironhide or Sunstreaker either, even though I'd prefer a Jazz and Wheeljack. But whatever, they'll need a core to combine with. WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO?!?!

Anyway. Expensive year. Some older stuff will have to be sold on to part pay for it all, make room, and keep my collection under control (I had been reducing my collection finding less is more, but that's out the window!).

Then there's the Green Giant issue. I cannot have TWO Devastators. It's nuts. But I suspect the individual Constructicons are going to be inferior to Green Giant's individuals. Does that matter? They'll spend most of their time combined I know that. But what to do with the wonderful Green Giant?

Still, nice problem to have from a collector's point of view! Spoiled for choice we are! Options Options Options! Better than no options.

Looking at the videos Phil posted links to last night I was thinking, so am I going all out on this line then? complete?

I concluded the answer is yes, except Leader Thundercracker. I'm fine with Jetfire owning that mould and Thundercracker shouldn't be that big.

It has also begun the wheels turning in the back of my mind that I should obtain some Classics/Universe figures too to flesh out the wings of the display, something I've tried very hard to avoid as that could just open up a bottomless pit of spending. Because I actively got out of that line and ignored it before it really started, I only own stuff from the point it became Generations and the video game figures came out. I am fond of those. But this combiners display is going to need some regular sized figures to make the combiners look that much bigger.

Okay, I do like the CW Cyclonus. And since I don't have a Universe Cyclonus, he will be my IDW-equivalent Cyclonus. As for his limbs... I'll probably go with the "classic" Autobot limbs that we have yet to see. Because this is the IDW-verse, of course.

And Devastator. Of course I'm going to get Devastator. How the hell could I not..?

Also, Neca appear to be releasing a Godzilla based on the NES Monster of Monsters game sprite, which is so Random I adore it.

Ultra Magnus. Defensor. Possibly Megatron- I'll decide when I see it in the plastic, I think. Cyclonus looks superb as well- I love the Generations one, but it'll be nice to have one that's big & chunky enough to go toe to toe with Whirl and take on MP Star Saber with Drift's sword without looking like he's playing Shadow of the Colossus.

I've never had any particular love for GI Joe, so Rattler Powerglide only interests me for how much he looks like Straxus in robot mode. Warpath does nothing for me- I have a neat deluxe one from a few years ago, a fun legends one from the year before that, and Badcube is making a big honkin' MP-style one. I'm all Warpathed up.

My purchasing plans are mostly going to be determined by what my financial situation is like later in the year, which in turn is going to depend on things like what the situation in the Temping market is like, so I am not making many firm plans as far as buying things goes.

That said, I think I will spring for Ultra Magnus at some point. He is a really nice looking, proper Ultra Magnus toy who will go nicely with my Classics Prime and he comes with a bonus new character as well - so even better value. I'll probably be getting an Air Raid to complete CW Superion.

Things I can see me getting if money isn't too tight:- Rook, I rather like Streetwise and Blades as well. I could imagine getting them (and then having a one-armed Ultra Prime unfortunately...). I do really fancy getting a Thundercracker. I wasn't that fussed about the Jetfire version of the mould, but I think the retool and repaint really work for it. When it comes to it I suspect that if I do buy it then it will be one that I'll have picked up and put back repeatedly until I see it marked down in a sale though.

Not entirely sold on Hotspot, I see what they were going for but the vehicle mode isn't really doing much for me at the moment.

Probably won't get - Ultra Prime, I like the red version but can't really get behind the idea of a white version.

No current plans: Devastator - I'm realistically not going to be able to justify the price of it, and I literally have nowhere I can display something that size

Beyond that I haven't given it a great deal of consideration given the other factors in play at the moment.
