Different toyline

Also even in the same toyline it's not unusual for the same character to turn into different things in different price ranges. TR Optimus, for example.

Again, that's a different toyline. Those are the next mainline, Transformers Cyberverse. It's replacing the aligned continuity, and specifically the nuRobots in Disguise toyline.
These here are Cyber-Battalion. Roughly voyager scale for half the price. There are about six of them, and were intended for the asian and latin markets (though Walgreens picked it up as an exclusive). Half of them don't have articulation if it doesn't need it to transform.

My 'Big Prowl' is Cyber-Battalion, right?
And the Shockwave in this thread is same line as my 'Big Prowl'?
This Shockwave is voyager?
Is Table Shockwave voyager?

The other shockwave is from the Cyberverse line, and is a Warrior, which is a less complex Deluxe. Same as Thermidor and Bisk and Thunderhooves.

Thank you, Gentleman.
Huh. Tablewave is too small for Table-flipper to flip! ...barely a footstool....

That was my concern about the Warrior size one, but he's a Shockwave so I'll buy him anyway.
Now we have a Voyager sized proposition I'm quite excited to see how he turns out. You've got the experience here Shockers - is your Big Prowl anywhere near Generations quality? Would he work if he was stood at the back? (given as a Prowl he's too big anyway).

Errrr... hmmmmm... They're very simple and basic in their design. But look good! So, yeah, I think a Shockwave would work. It wouldn't be as good as a 'real' CHUG update, but would be a decent stand-in.

I got prowl and jetfire. The quality of this line is pretty solid. Prowl is really fun, but jetfire is... less so.
Prowl is fully articulated, with a fun and unique transformation. Jetfire is better than PotP Starscream, except he lacks knees. He has knee joints sculpted in. I mean if you didn't look closely you'd think he had actual knees, they mimic the typical ratchet knees so well.
So the catch with this line is that. They'll omit articulation if it isn't necessary for transformation. Otherwise you're getting a voyager sized toy for less than a deluxe.

It was hard work, but I think we sourced Shockers a Prowl via a Chinese eBay seller in the end. I'm sure that was what I found.

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one to think that! Both of these look like quite decent toys. To be honest, I think that they look a lot better than the three-step changers we've had in the main line recently, or the "Turbo Changers" from the movie line for that matter. That is a darned good looking Shockwave. Actually quite like the way the wings fold up on his back - as well as the fact that they might be able to fold out in a sort of "Bat-wave" kind of silhouette. Karl

Zooming in on my phone, I'm starting to think he doesn't have functional knees.
That said, he's still the best G1 stand-in we have.
