1992 is quite an inventive line, I think.

I also liked 1992. I loved the mix of new and old. The Classics were out then, offering up the likes of Wheeljack and Prowl. You had triplechangers like Springer and Octane. Optimus Prime was out. Overlord and the Motorvators. And the new Turbomasters/Predators. Oh - and Throttlebots.
That was like the IDEAL TF line for a year. A perfect mix of everything - you had Japanese exclussive Powermaster/Godmasters. You had reissues of straight up great G1 characters. And you had you "new' Transformers as Turbomaster and Predators which, as a group, weren't half bad at all.
That was a good year to be alive.

They sure have. The Leozack repaint is also a female character.

Damn, can't see that tiny pic at all - is it showing minuscule on your screens too? I take it they've just added Liokaiser parts to make them combine?

Proper pics in this thread: tmukhub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=comix&action=display&thread=5681The only additional piece Liokaiser had was a head, so Rescue Force can combine into a 4/6 complete gestalt

Ooooooh, some very spiffy links there Matt!
I don't have a Liokaiser (only the bootleg WST version - which rocks) and I assumed he had add-on bits too. It's quite beguiling to think of a Rescue Force gestalt - does he have a name?

I was wondering if that was a translation of Japanese notes translated from English and if there could have been a better name planned
Online translations of Rescue into Japanese and back into English come up with Extricate, Reclaim, Deliverance, Salvage, Eternity, Old Grudge, Old Acquaintance, Suspending performance.
And large can also be the more Transformery Giant, Great, Battle, War, Campaign
Also Young of Animals, The Late, Sin, Cry and Squatting with Legs Outstretched.
Theres some potential in there.
Great Deliverance, War Salvage(r), Grand Extricate(r)- (grand didn't come up but seems like it would be in the same ball park)
or Squatting with Legs Outstretched Suspending Performance(r)
or Giant Old Acquantance

Hi all, I've been searching for a complete G2 Rotorstorm on eBay for ages and finally found this one www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Transformers-G2-Rotorstorm-100-complete-/301581580759I've literally been looking for so long that I've become paranoid I'm missing something! Complete ones are SO rare! Can anyone take a look at the listing and confirm it is 100% complete with me so I can bid without disappointment? Thank you!

Rotorstorm comes with 6 missiles, 2 launchers and a set of rotor blades that are frequently broken. These have gone a bit floppy but are intact. Yep, he's complete.

The problem with Rotorstorm is that he's a victim of the Roche/Roberts effect courtesy of his Last Stand of the Wreckers appearances. Before that you had trouble giving him away. Now.....
Fine, fine toy though
It's interesting he's the same colour as the previous year's helicopter Windmill....

I love the 1992 toys - see My 1992 reviews and Top 5 toys: 1992 Toys for more. I think they were one of the best reboots the line has ever done, going back to the basic premise of heroic cars vs evil jets and finally making that battle available at pocket money size by giving the Turbomasters the Predators to fight. The ninth year of the toy line and we'd never had a range of small jets before. There's some mighty odd stuff going on in there too: odd colour changes have haunted TFs since 84 and there's one of the best here Snare sticks out like a sore thumb for being red and the more you think about the more it looks like he's had his paint colours confused with his VS pack partner Boss. Snare in grey/blue fits in with the general theme of the Predators and when you put a red vehicle body together with Boss' head sculpt and name you get. (which then asks is Flash the right colour?) Stalker and Rotorstorm are probably the best megas they did really using the size well. They're the only toys in the main bit of the line to break ranks from the new format but they do it well: Somehow Autobot helicopters is more OK (Thank you Springer, Sandstorm and Whirl, indeed in many ways Rotorstorm is a Whirl update) and Decepticon military vehicles is a natural fit too. Both are frustrating short on the modern articulation stakes but oh so close and you can see how it would be done. That both of these have re-emerged TWICE is a testament to how good they are. Missile launchers everywhere (yay) and a decent gimmick tying the smaller Decepticons to the larger ones. The Constructicons and Resue Force are odd in the extreme. Constructicons get the right vehicle colour but loose the ability to combine. WHY? The Chinese Constructicons were still in Woolworths which makes these an even odder choice. Rescue force swap sides and loose two members, which automatically affects their ability to combine. Given Rescue Force, the 92 Constructicons and the 91 Motivators someone at Hasbro UK must have REALLY hated combiners! I'd have been tempted to forget the Constructicons and maybe split Breast Force 50/50, 3 on each side as An Air Attack Squadron and Ground Defence Squad, subtly ignoring the ability to combine.

1993 I'm less keen on. I don't like the downsizing of the Pocket money toys, at least not without something slightly larger carded.
I don't like the reliance on cars for most of the line.
I don't like the scopes with the Trakkons and Lightformers, they just look rubbish on their single leg.
I don't like Clench.
Pyro IS the best thing they did that year yet like the 92 leaders he's GPS cursed :-(

How's his prices been affected by being Robertsed in MTMTE?
Now is probably a good time to get one before he shows up again!

I had Pyro for many years (previously it had been the Kaptain's) before it was donated to Toy-Fu. Never had any GPS problems. Great toy. -Ralph
