I need to check what the current leave arrangements are. Our next 'leave year' does not start until Oct 1st so don't know if I can book time off yet.

This is the same weekend as Roll Out/Roll Call (I think), if anyone was planning both or either.

In which case let me issue a first reminder to bring my New Mutants books back! In my previous post I typed the sentence "And your New Mutants books will soon be home" but deleted it before posting as being unnecessary information. Martin

Indeed. Draw a straight line from Hull to Southampton, and Brum and Swindon are both pretty close to it. We'll be by mid-late afternoon. Only renting a car this time, as it's about 1/3 of the price and we don't have nearly as much stuff.

You're about an hour and a half from Soton after me.
East up the M4 to Newbury then down the a34 and join the M3 iirc

So I opted for the safer Birmingham*/Swindon route instead. *Obviously safety is relative when talking about driving through Birmingham.

I would say geography is relative when you're driving through Birmingham. Distance is relatively fixed, but direction is a matter of philosophy.
