Super interview, lots of interesting teases and very funny in many places. LSOTW really is going to be THAT good.

So, what do you reckon - should Impactor have been brought back for this series? If only for his customary heroic death maybe.

I'd be overjoyed to see Impactor brought back, although it would probably confuse the hell out of the fanboys who would say "but he wasn't in the show" or "this guy didn't have a toy". A character like Impactor who, pardon the pun, actually made an impact and was an integral part of a UK comic story will always take a back seat to someone like Devcon or Dion who were in the cartoon but did sod all. Andy Schmit has gone on record as saying he bases his main inspiration on the G1 cartoon with everything else taking second place. That fills me with even less hope. Still, with Mr Roche and Mr Roberts on board my optimism picks up, as they could produce a story about a plank, cotton wool and beans and make it interesting.

Impactor
- for the follow up series. Sure Nick & Jame smust be thinking of doing a follow on with them saying they might have needed more issues this time round. IDW are going to just give them 5 issues after all the issues they got out of Nick so far. They have to make up for 12 issues of dreadful comics.

You know, this might just be enough to stop me waiting for the trade (the hard cover to be precise).

Yeah I think I'll make an exception to my trade buying on this one. Hopefully this lives up to expectation so it needs high sales for an Impactor filled sequel and show IDW that Marvel UK is a much better source than the cartoon.

If the series is half as good as the interview we're in for a treat. Why am I still typing? Must order now.

I seriously had butterflys in my stomach reading that, I'm so excited for this series.
So, bets on who bites it?

Glad you enjoyed our forced banter, folks! How cool is it that James flippin' Roberts is writing TFs professionally, wha'?
As far as ordering this goes, I'm fully aware that times are tight, and it really is the right-wrong time of the year to launch a comic this good. (They teach you how to talk up things like this at Comics School) But if you could make an exception for #1, that'd help us immeasurably. As I've said elsewhere, let it be your post-Christmas treat for yourself. If you wanna stick with series after that, cool. We're gonna include extras in the single issues that we think won't end up being included in the trade, and then create new bonus material for the collection. So there's something for every type of collector that way.
But yeah, start placing your orders now. Steve Bax is an obvious candidate for excellent service and friendly-face-factor. But now is the time to let retailers know that this comic is in demand. And screw this trouser-shattering nonsense; by page 22 of #1, I vow that all old-skool TFUKers' spleens will be melted by the event, and then used as lubrication, as the reality of the situation loves you up the backhole.

But seriously yeah, this is going top of my pull list, and I'll be pushing it harder than I push crack cocaine to kids outside the primary school gates

Nick I will buy every issue of this comic even if Emirate Xaaron isn't in it, but it would be even better if he was. Even a shot of his shoulder will do. I'm that desperate. -Ralph

For some reason I was just assuming Impactor was in this before reading the interview. I don't feel less excited but I do feel a little Andy

Oh, I shall definitely be buying this. Since Auto Assembly I have been pretty much convinced that this was one comic I wasn't going to be waiting for the trade on, and everything I have seen and heard since has served merely to confirm me in that opinion.

I'll be buying each issue of this from my local store. And it's the only Transformers comic I will be picking up as single issues as well. Anything else waits till trade. This one cannot.

If I find that Drift has not been made an honorary Wrecker or there's no mention of him being kicked out of the group by Springer for being too awesome in the first issue, then I shall go after Nick's blood via James.

We must end our reviews of each issue with the proclamation of "Where's Drift?"

I'll do my best to get the singles for this one. I'm a trade guy typically, but that's based purely on the inavailability of singles in my area. But given that the ongoing does not excite me in the slightest, and I know jack about the Bumblebee miniseries, I think I may have to make the extra effort and travel further for this one just to tick me over...

Well, I thought they came across like a pair of arseholes.
Hello, Hubbers!
Just wanted to pledge fealty to the TMUK massive and say that I am obviously stoked to be co-writing the Wreckers epic. And it is an epic, oh yes. Nick's an old hand at this stuff, but to a newbie like me... well, I'm still getting the shivers. It only seems like yesterday I was writing 'Doomsday!' in my fourth year jotter, describing a battle scene involving the Double Targetmasters and the Seacons ('cos they'd come out that week).
It means a lot that those of you who normally stick to the trades are going to buy single issues for this series. It's not the ongoing and it features lesser-known characters, so it has to punch above its weight on the newsstands. Tell you what, why not encourage your friends and family to wander into comic shops, scan the shelves and casually ask the guy behind the counter in the Chris Ware t-shirt whether they've got issue one of that new Wreckers series in stock. A few casual enquiries like that, and presto! They'll be doubling their orders!
Oh, and if you needed an incentive, there will be bonus material in the individual issues that as things stand won't be in the trade. Can't say any more.
Finally, I've heard that stage actors sometimes focus on just one person in the audience? The person from which they want to elicit a reaction - to make laugh or cry or recoil. The person who, in essence, becomes the ultimate barometer of success. Well, certainly for me, and I reckon for Nick as well, you guys, you TMUKers and Hub patrons and Transformers UK purists -- you are that person.

The prospect of current TransFormers comics creators whom not only take their inspiration from the early comics but the Marvel UK ones in particular makes me giggle on the inside.
Unlike the ones who take their cues from the cartoon. Ugh.

I've let all this IDW stuff pass me by since it started, even Maximum Dinobots.
But for the first time in years I am really excited about an upcoming Transformers comic and as a bonus it is from the pencils of two familiar people I know from the good old days of TMUK.
I'll certainly be buying the single issues as well as the TPB. Nick and James RULES.
