Yesterday's SDCC reveals - see tmukhub.proboards.com/post/247432/thread - may have some relevence to the direction of the Legends line: I did wonder why Rumble hadn't appeared with Jaguar (Ravage) and Condor (Laserbeak) in the November wave. I reckon the answer was that they didn't have a spare existing Decepticon Headmaster to use - all three Legends Tapes have used heads that were previously Headmasters in G1 Shockwave has Cancer(Squeezeplay), Jaguar has Bullhorn (Terribull) and Condor has Apeface. The arrival of a Fangry Titanmaster gives an option to release him with either Rumble or the new Gnaw. To accompany further Decepticon Legends legend releases the only remaining Decepticon Headmasters yet to be Titanmastered are Snapdragon, Scorponok & Black Zarak before Japan has to start using newly Headmastered characters Meanwhile on the Autobot tape side..... It's generally believed that Stripes was meant to be Steeljaw but probably ended up name & colour changed because of the prominence of RiD Steeljaw. I can't believe Takara will pass up the opportunity to pair the lion tape Steeljaw with Lione, the Headmaster/Titanmaster who used to be a lion. Perfect match I think. Bumblebee is the only unreleased in Japan legends sized autobot toy. He's got plenty of head options with Minerva, repainted from Nightbeat or a potential Hosehead.

Hmmmmm... Yes, cheaper than Kapow. But given I've been CUTAed recently (and not just for TFs) I'm tempted to just get them from Kapow anyway. 'Cos with CUTA, that makes them more expensive from HLJ. Hmmm...

There's certain items there on the August and September releases that Kapow have sold out of.

And they probably aren't going to have been released before TFN either, meh. Always another way!

Yes they do. Still not sold on Laserbeak, but yeah, Ravage looks better.

Still a mess though. Big mistake making the Legends triple changers, even if it means the titans can ride them. The wings on Ravage are just silly.

Still no regrets on the Brainstorm I have, despite generally prefering the Takara colour jobs.

I don't think it was a mistake per se, as there's nothing intrinsically wrong with the idea, but rather than making two decent modes and one really rubbish mode like usual, they've pretty much made three slightly rubbish modes.

I just think those toys are too small to cope with three modes, but I get the point that in this line every figure above the Titanmaster class has to have the ability to fit one of the little buggers in somewhere.

The Titanmasters could totally ride on the back of the animals!!
Frankly I think more harm is done by the 'need' to have them turn into data sticks or whatever their rectangular modes are!
