It's good that they're re-releasing that Optimus Primal mold, because it was pretty damned near perfect first time round. The only improvement they could have made they have made, which is to make it screen accurate. So I guess that'll do.
I won't be getting one myself, though. I was bought the original for my birthday back in '97, so there's no need to replace that. Screen accuracy can't replace memories and love and pain and... Anyhoo. Also I've got the Burning Convoy version of the Robot Masters mold, which is also really nice, so yeah, I don't think I need a third of almost the same mold. Really glad they're releasing it, though.
As for Rattrap. I guess I can now choose between the Takara version and the Hasbro version, since it's never going to get a release in the UK... (Is it?)

Well that's... vexing.
Good, but vexing. Now to wait to see how much importing him will cost...

From Online SightingsHLJ have dropped their prices on these but the discount doesn't seem to have gone through to those who've already ordered. So it might be worth ordering again and cancelling Gelshark www.hlj.com/product/TKT81291/Sci Y4000 Y3200 Jetfire www.hlj.com/product/TKT81292/Sci Y7000 Y5600 That brings Jetfire down to a very reasonable £32 plus postage. Odd that the stock photo of Gelshark shows his chest (around the shark eyes) flits between silver and blue. I didn't get hands-on with Skybyte but I'm assuming there's an inconsistency there and they're not 'fake eyes' on his chest?

And now it makes sense... I find a lack symmetry unnerving.

Yes, unlike the original Skybyte, this one's shark head becomes the robot chest. The nose is a separate piece that rotates inside itself to reveal the faux spark crystal. The deco is gonna screw up either the shark, or the robot. Hasbro chose to side with the shark. IMO, they chose wrong.

I like Arcana's face and all, but I'm not a fan of the non-articulated arms. And the joined legs. And the screw in the middle of the stomach. It's 2014, dammit - we should be able to do better than this! Still, all that aside, it *is* Brainstorm...

Brainstorm looking better than on the last photos that were revealed where the dark grey looked almost black. Very nice.
Is this the first we've seen of the chest tech-spec readout? I don't remember noticing it before, but I don't pay as close attention as I used to.

First we've seen of it, as far as I know. Because it's a total surprise to me.

If the tech specs are in the cockpit and the headmaster can fit in the cockpit when it's in jet mode, does this mean when the head is plugged in or automatically during transformation to robot the tech specs get revealed???

Big difference in the faces. Much more anime styled. Can't do much about Arcee carrying her house on her back, but I think losing the black, particularly on the feet, is a good move.

As long as I have Animated Arcee, I have no need of this Arcee.

Windblade looks much better in this release, at Armada Starscream levels. Tempted.
