I've got the Takara Jetfire preordered too, but I'm not expecting him until mid Jan. At the time the price difference was small enough to justify not having to put up with the Christmas tree version. Jetfire's too cool to put up with a substandard finish.

Mp 10 is the same height as grimlock, starscream, and rodimus.
Looks like megatron's true purpose at that size is to be a backdoor MP stand-in. Lame.
Not pleased with G2 Bumblebee because he lacks the completely nuts love that Sideswipe got. But will probably get it.

Oooh - he's shiny. But I'm going to pass on the Takara version, and hope that the Hasbro version ends up here. And then ends up with some sort of discount. (Yes, I am now, in this post-Xmas period, returning to my normal M.O.)
Also, thinking about it some more, what I really want from a new combiner team is Pretenders. Pretender combiners! But this doesn't mean they can't be female. So... All-female Monstructor? Or does that perhaps send the wrong message..?

Megatron. That.... that kinda does it for me, but also doesn't do it for me. There's bits I like, bits I dislike. I think it'll be a fun toy, but it's no Masterpiece stand-in (he says breathing a sigh of relief).

As for that megs... It *is* looking better. Ashame it's just so stupid big! Oh well, maybe I'll shove it in my BW display for the better Megatron to stand over the corpse of his pathetic namesake.

I have a feeling in the flesh that Megatron is going to look a lot worse.

Japanese Leader Megatron thought:
I wonder of the reason we've not seen the deco for the Japanese Megatron is because it's a completely new deco: is the Japanese one a purple tank leader Megatron?

I thought we had seen it? It's just a little more silver, isn't it? Or am I just getting confused?

What we've seen is the Hasbro version, with Japanese text saying "not final version"

Ahhh... They'll be finding a way to make the colour scheme more cartoon accurate. Or something.
Or maybe it'll be a more MTMTE-accurate colour scheme. Which is crazy talk. None of the toylines will ever embrace MTMTE. Er.

Japanese Leader Megatron Twitter LinkI'm much preferring the US version with the red on the inside the arms reminiscent of the original toy. Now if the Japanese version was grey, with blue highlight or, even better, purple I'd be interested. US Agents have been assigned the task of finding me a Hasbro version.

Huh. There doesn't seem to be much in it to my mind. And I actually quite like the red on the inside of the arms - reminds me of my original G1 Megs.

The irony is that in terms of UK based purchases, the Takara one is cheaper to pre-order (TFS Express). Useful comparison pics Phil, ta.
Hmm. I like the traditional approach of the red, but actually looking at those two I think Takara has it.

Hmmm. In theory the red should break up all that silver and improve the look. Plus G1 toy scheme. But the Takara version looks better, not a lot, but better.
Or it could be down to Hasbros awful official photography. I really can't tell.

Its hasbro's aweful photography. Aside from lacking red, The japanese is almost identical to hasbro's version. Hasbro's is exactly that silver.

I think its that the robot mode is pretty far removed from the original toy, the red looks out of place.
I'd not thought of it as being particularly cartoon accurate either but without the red it sort of does.

I'm told these are convention exclusives :-(
I really want a Scourge/Nemesis Prime from the RTS Dlx Op but everytime they do one it prooves hard and/or expensive to get.
