1995 saw the release of the first issue of 'Transmasters Universe' a 20-page, A5-sized, black-and-white photocopied Transformers fanzine. It ran, on and off, for nearly 40 issues until the early 2000s having transitioned to "digital". The idea for the fanzine itself was Matt Dallas's, perhaps because he was sick of me sending in character profiles to put into his own 'zine at the time. 'Transmasters Universe', or TMU, then grew over time to include fan-made characters from readers all over the world who sent in their creations for publication. I couldn't let its 20 year anniversary pass without mention. -- Graham

Doesn't it just. Funnily enough I came across a pile of issues of TMU and it's "successors" a couple of weeks back.
Happy Anniversary Transmasters Universe! *raises decaff latte in salute*

That is AMAZING! I've still got all my printed copies from issue 9 onwards I don't believe people realise how groundbreaking TMU was for its time.
