I have just discovered Sky Cinema have exclusive rights to broadcasting Die Hard over the Christmas period. I feel a film like this should be like Wimbledon and the Olympics - reserved for public service broadcasting.

I agree though - along with Gremlins, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Scrooged and the Chuck Jones Grinch should all be public service broadcasting.

Die Hard 4 is poo beyond poo. At the time I hadn't built up my resistance to crap so walked out partway due to boredom. I caught the back half on telly a few years later. Dear oh dear.

Good Lord, man, it's not as bad as all that! It's not as good as the previous three, but it's got the Die Hard feel to it! There's some good stuff in there, like John and Bowman both running out at the same time to visually check if the important American building has exploded or not. The computer geek and John had a good relationship, the whole 'that guy' thing. Some of the action got a bit too daft, but it's good silly fun!
Jeez, harsh-a-rama, Doc'.... wow...
