Get the Legends one, at least that feels more reasonable.

Scourge and Highbrow are both way too bulky to be Nautica though. Huge broad chests. If she wasn't getting a new mold, I guess the smaller Blurr is the best remold we could get. It's killing me I can't get her at all though... I was looking at the set at TFN with James Roberts and he was also surprised that he would have to buy her as part of an expensive set (with toys that he didn't want) just to own her. And he only created the character!

Get the Legends one, at least that feels more reasonable. That was my initial reaction. It leaves me with a problem though, it would be the only Hasbro TR release i didnt own. Then my head would explode.

It's a difficult situation for them. Three figures they can sell in a case of eight. I thought this kind of thing was why Hasbro started that option for solid case orders. Kapow have said they can't stock this figure until they can get it that way.

Didn't Kapow say they were getting it in the Wave 6 case and were trying to work out a way to make it as good a deal as they could before listing?

You know, as badly botched as distribution has been, if they were gonna do three repacks, you'd think they'd make them the guys that were so hard to get. Wolfwire, Mindwipe, and Triggerhappy spring immediately to mind as being better choices than HARDHEAD, who is only behind blurr and scourge as the worst shelfwarmer of the line.

Link to where they said that? I thought they were getting it! it's in the comments under the apology post they put on facebook today. They say they're waiting to get solid cases cos they don't want any more of the others. They actually told people to go to ID if they want to secure a preorder. I think the implication is they will get him, but not through the initial release.

I have no sympathy for price gouging retailers. -Ralph Normally I'd agree but in situations like this it's a tricky spot. There's one new figure in the wave, the rest of the box is stuff that will never sell. So do they: Order in the cases, charge Slugslinger at the normal £20 and then sit forever on the Hardheads and Hot Rods at £20 and take a loss on them Charge going rate for the Hardheads and Hot Rods and more for the Slugslinger to average out the box cost Sell only as a case Force people to buy a Hardhead with every Slugslinger?

And it's not like Hasbro couldn't have divided up the last wave with this one. It had FIVE new figures. They could have moved Kup (since he's already in this wave), and Windblade, then reissued Weirdwolf in that wave, and Triggerhappy or Mindwipe in this one. Brought both waves to something much more reasonable. Four figures each- three new ones, and a reissue of the hardest guys to get.

You're conflagrating waves 4 & 5: Wave 3
Hot Rod with Firedrive Triggerhappy with Blowpipe Breakaway (Geatway) with Autobot Throttle Twinferno (Doublecross) with Daburu
Wave 4
Sergeant Kup with Flintlock Perceptor with Convex Topspin with Freezeout Krok with Gatorface Quake with Chasm
Wave 5
Twintwist with Flameout Windblade with Scorchfire Misfire with Aimless
Wave 6
Slugslinger with Caliburst My money is on a decision being taken to curtail TR cFeb 2017, after Slugslinger had been shown in Aus, causing the loss of whichever toys should have been in with both Slugslinger and Ramhorn. Wave 4 is already out in some locations by then and wave 5 has been announced. So they dream up wave 6,. heavily loading Slugslinger. Unfortunately they don't load it heavily enough and pack it with mutliples of previous characters. Something more like (say) 4 x Slugslinger 1 x Hot Rod 1 x Kup 1 x Hardhead 1 x A N Other (using the existing wave 6 as a basis) would have been better for collectors (but less popular at retail?). I'd have been loathe to use any Hot Rod though given he was 3 per case in wave 3 and has a new version coming early in POTP With a little further notice I'd have played a different strategy firther back (assume 2 per case unless stated) Wave 3
3/2? x Hot Rod with Firedrive Triggerhappy with Blowpipe Twinferno (Doublecross) with Daburu 1 x Breakaway (Geatway) with Autobot Throttle 1? x A N Other repaint
Wave 4
Sergeant Kup with Flintlock Perceptor with Convex Topspin with Freezeout Misfire with Aimless
Wave 5
Twintwist with Flameout Windblade with Scorchfire Slugslinger with Caliburst 1 x Krok with Gatorface 1 x Quake with Chasm One of the Decepticon Targetmasters in each wave, I can see a desire to keep Triggerhappy and his remoulds in seperate waves and only new toys in the inial case for each wave. I'd want to even that Wave 3 out a bit too, so I'd be tempted to have chucked a second one per case repaint in on top of Get/Breakaway.

The added bonus here for this wave being difficult is that the Takara versions of Hot Rod and Kup are due end of the month!

And get left with 5 toys that nobody wants that they're paying warehouse space for and eventually have to sell at a loss. I can see why Kapow have gone "No Thanks" here!
Oh for the days of even cases with CW!
Actually, if the leaks are to be believed, there's a POTP case coming up with one new toy and three repacks. Fortunately the repacks don't look so retail poison as this wave....

Or they could just sell the toy at RRP and not be dicks. -Ralph Kapow's done the right thing I think by saying 'no, we're not selling this wave'. A company will need to sell the whole box for a profit to make a profit. No point selling Slugslinger and then having to sell the others at a loss. They're just making a loss to be nice to fans. This is the sort of thing that killed MOTU 200X! They could at least have stuffed some Kroks and Quakes in there! I think Takara is the way to go for Slugslinger, until the Hasbro ones percolate onto the market at least. Stranger things have happened with late wave figures (especially in the UK!)

I don't blame the retailers, there is nothing they can do about it and at least they've explained the decision, Kapow had shed loads of hot rods at TFN and they weren't shifting.
still cant believe ID sold out tho!!

Easiest way to show sellers they are taking the mic (which they are frankly) is not to buy it at the inflated price.
They in turn can tell Hasbro not to do this by not buying cases of it.
The wallet is our most powerful tool.

Except the demands of companies like Kapow and its customers are different from Big retail stores and their customers which are the main source of Hasbros business.
Kapow and In Demand have both done the right thing for me. One has made the toy available at the price they need to avoid making losses, good for those who want it badly enough, the other has said no to stocking it which maybe, just maybe eventually makes it way back to Hasbro and results in better thought out waves.

however If kapow and ID toys have massive backlogs of certain toys to shift, its a good guess that so do Hasbro, they are probably doing this to clear down their warehouse of unwanted lines ahead of the new range coming in

Phil, Wave 5 deluxe case included 2 Wolfwire restocks. I'd have preferred not to have them and 2 Slugslinger instead. I'm still sitting on a bunch of them unsold. I'll probably skip the Slugslinger deluxe wave too, it's really not worth it ordering a case of 8 figures to only have 3 that will sell. Or they could just sell the toy at RRP and not be dicks. -Ralph RRP stands for recommended retail price, you're under no obligation to sell at that price. And your constant attacks on Kapow are incredibly rude. I don't know what they did to offend you, but there's no reason for name calling everytime they're mentioned on the board.

Definitely. But then you end up with two of the Triggerhappy retools in one case, and Hasbro have been trying to avoid that.
Weren't the w5 Wolfwires modified to removed the defect on the w2 ones?

There are no "attacks" on Kapow, especially as I was referring to ID Toys at the time (following on from noting they wanted £35 for a deluxe). Kindly don't try and start an argument for no reason. Cheers. If you have a problem, drop me a PM. -Ralph
