Alpha Trion does look beast like. Is he a Skullcrucher repaint? Silver bit on forearm claws for feet? The shoulder pads looks like they fold forward to form a animal head.
Chromedome head looks good but you can tell if it tilts like Brainstorm.
Mindwipe - is that a Insection legend toy repainted for this or a mini-flyer or whatever we are calling those car jets the head ride in.
Scourge might not have his rear spoiler head thing in his hovercraft mode - looks to eb too flat but we don't get to see the rear of it. Looks like the gun doubles has a jet for his head.

Okay, so admittedly the pictures are tiny small and blurry, but I am not really liking the aesthetic of Titans Return yet...

I wish they'd do Wingspan and Pounce. I love those guys. They are some of my favorite Decepticons. Would be nice if SOMEBODY did them...

I still think if they are concerned about costs, repaint Micromasters as G1 characters and make action figures with half decent articulation that can house them.

Folks are well aware I and Phil champion the merits of repainting MMs as other larger G1 characters. Overload as Optimus etc etc.

In more serious note, I'm a tad puzzled for the point as many G1 "big bots" have legends that are only slightly larger than micromasters, and as direct representatives of those characters, are much better matches than any micromaster repaint could be. Megs is even a gun. It's been since the nineties since the last time I messed around with a MM base, but i seem to recall their ramps being large enough to fit a post LoC legend.
On a side note, I'm still shocked neither Hasbro or Takara dusted off any of the MM bases during Armada and the minicon heyday.

Well to be fair the call for MMs to be repainted as other G1 characters started back when MMs came out. Sure the legends figures are small, but they're not Micromasters. Micros are even smaller and have a different aesthetic about them (more chunky I guess)
Lots of the MM bases have little compartments big enough for MMs but too small for most legends and Minicons, sadly.

Thing is, crazy as this idea is, if the whole idea of Titans Return is that the smaller robots *are* the actual characters, and the larger bodies are just transtectors, then this idea for Pretenders works, because they'd be in perfect scale.
Apart from when they put the outer shells on. But that never stopped Scorponok, so why shouldn't it stop us?

I wouldn't be able to eat the M&Ms then!

I very strongly suspect something Original Character and Micromaster related will be the third phase of the current Generations toyline trilogy.

It will certainly be interesting to see where it does go as the first two chapters have kinda covered everything up to the Powermasters and Pretenders seems too cost prohibitive to me. I was wondering if FoC Bruticus -> CW and T30 Brainstorm -> TR might mean the Lio Kaiser Boxset is a test the water idea for the third chapter being based on the Takara trilogy characters, but There isn't a lot there in terms of toy types they're not already doing.

I was about to say, Micromasters are great for display - you can get them properly formed up in Review and they have very little footprint.
