I've been giving the Titanmasters some thought. End of the line, and having thought about their successor a bit.
From Wave 2 onwards the name and accessory make sense together. Brawn has a jeep, Ramhorn a Rhino etc.
In fact you can argue the Grimlock and Flywheels Titanmaster accessories, Clobber and Skytread, are much more suited to them than their original Wave 1 owners Crashbash (Squeezeplay) and Terribull (Horribull)
So assume Crashbash and Horribull were pre tools for Clobber and Grimlock. They grab the wave 2 designs and whack different faces on.
So what's going on with Nightbeat and Loudmouth (Siren) then? Just designed with odd vehicle accessories or were they destined for another character later and this idea was dropped?

Well, loudmouth's vehicle isn't really at odds with Siren, the way Nightbeat's is.

With POTP now hitting I realise just how little of Titans Return Ive bought in the last year. Thanks to Jetty and others I think Ive got all the Titanmasters and I bought Krok, Seaspray and Trypticon, but otherwise my collection stalled at wave 3 deluxe and voyager, wave 2 legends and wave 1 leaders. No got soundwave so wave 2?

as I posted in the POTP thread mate I am in exactly the same position, its dawned on me how little I actually picked up; I actually need quite a bit and most of it is because it was a bit harder to find in the UK, will have to blow some cash around Christmas on a few bits!

I think thats been my issue. I got everything up to February cheap. Everything Ive seen has been full price since. At those prices I decided I might as well go Takara, except I never got around to ordering any of those.

Birstall smyths has lots in. About 40 megatrons and optimus at 24 each and then for deluxe they had:
Krok, hotrod, kup, quake, preceptor, twin ferno, twin twist, topspin and hard head for 19 quid each. They had about 10 pegs of deluxe and at least 3 of each listed so surely they will slash that price eventually they can't be selling through

Any chance of them making it to the UK? Even if they did it'd probably be cheaper to import!

Busted out Octone tonight. First time I've played with this mould. I remember seeing the Prime on a shop shelf and not being impressed, but this is much better as the figure it's supposed to be. Fold the shoulder stacks back and push the ping up Prime ears down and you've got a nice looking Octane. The tanker mode isn't bad either.

If you mean the lines on the panels on his lower legs in robot mode matching the edges, I don't think there are any the right way round. The Takara one is the same.

I think it is an interesting Optimus Prime which manages to do a decent job of hitting the right spots in homaging previous versions, whilst having a bit of an identity of its own. To me it kind of feels like Prime's conciousness relocated into a modified, transformable version of his armoured convoy, with some nice references to his Laser Rod form thrown in. (Ah, the wonders of the Variable Transformation Matrix :-) ) The tanker mode is quite good too. (Lets pretend the flying...thing...mode isn't there, it will make us all feel better). That said, the mould does have one obvious are where it strongly matches Octane's original toy - like so many triple-changers it has two decent modes and one utter horror... And just as with the original Octane the horror is the aircraft mode... :-) Karl
