Okay, so there's no announcement yet about the location or the exact date, but there is a small teaser up at www.botcon.com They say the date and venue will be announced soon. - Tony

The picture looks somewhat Time Warsly. What's in the Quicktime window? I don't want to download the plug-in right now.
I don't currently plan on going to Botcon next year - I want to save up for the '09 instead, 25th anniversary and all. Although if '08 looks appealing enough...

You're not missing much on the QuickTime window. It just says something to the effect of "At BotCon 2008...Everything you thought you knew...will be shattered!". Looks like we'll be getting a repaint of Classics Prime and Cybertron Crosswise/Smokescreen, but I can't make out who the third one is with the window in the way.

The third one is Cyb Hotshot apparently. I love the pic, as well as Times Wars sort of reminds me of Man of Irons art. Toy accurate without looking like someone lookinh like RID card art.
The club boards got all excited about a Star Trek style mirror universe. Doesn't fil me with excitement off the bat, but it could work. If true I find myslf hoping at least one of them has a remoulded head with evil facial hair.

Replace the panels on the sides of Shockwave's head with pointed ears and give him a goatee...

I assume that every exclusive figure at Botcon '08 is going to have a stick-on goatee.
At least I don't need to worry about missing out on the toys since I'll be examming when the convention is on.

It's just been announced that BotCon will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio from 24th - 28th April 2008. The venue is the Duke Energy Cente and the Hyatt Regency is the main hotel for the weekend. If last year is any indication, it will sell out pretty quickly and more will be announced soon after. I don't think it will be quite as big this year what with no movie coming out, but you never know.

There was a quick correction e-mail sent out to announce that officially the convention hotel rate is from the 24th - 27th April and does not apply to the Sunday night. I assume that this dosen't affect the actual convention centre running on Sunday 28th. I probably won't have as much money this time around, but that's probably a good thing considering how crazy I went this year!

So, April next year, eh? FP seem to be having trouble settling on a regular date for Botcon. It's ranged from April to September so far.
An earlier date next year makes it even more unlikely that I will attend.

Spring is the time of year FP want to settle on permanently. Not sure if I'll try getting there, nah I probably will but without any specific excitement from the con itself I was hoping the location would be somewhere interesting and or touristy. After a quick look it looks to be neither.

I remember FP saying at the TFCC panel that they want to alternate the TF and GI Joe conventions between spring and summer on a yearly basis. That would fit in with Transformers 2 being released in summer 2009, so it should give a nice 14 month break between them. I suppose it's just that Marc and I are BotCon junkies at this stage that's making us go, and hopefully you'lll be there as well, Andy. I do know one little piece of information not officially announced yet that has my interest, though.....

It looks like Marc, Andy and myself so far. With less than four months to go, there should be more information available shortly. You thinking of making the trip, Ken?

If there's a pastel blue/purple repaint of Movie Bumblebee called "Glyph" or "Bug Bite" I shall arrange to have the entire American continent flooded with piss-flavoured sugar-free jelly.

I do no understand it has made the leap from sugar free piss flavour jelly to this or why it is so ecited about this particualr add that it made it so big. or why "or" is the only word without a capital letter.

It's traditional not to capitalise conjunctions, although they did it for With. Poor grammar is a sure sign of a reputable institution, I reckon.
In other news, piss flavour jelly? What could that have to do with... [checks page 1] ahh.

I'd love to come for the Botcon trip and I am currentley in a financial position to do so. At the moment I can't see it happening unless the ol ball and chain lets me go as an incentive for going through Uni Stress. It's only fair since she's attended 2 Botcons already (97 and 98)

Plus we're likely to need one more for the quiz if we decided to embarrass ourselves again....... er I mean conquer all.
Having finally watched season 2 questions of vector Sigma War Dawn, Elita One and friends and Alpha Trion might make sense.

It would indded be great to have you along, Ken. I hope you can make it. Andy, we will conquer all, even if there are only three of us! I've watched all of seasons 1 & 2, and am now on to the woeful season 3, so hopefully I'll do alright in those questions as well. I wonder, if the roles were reversed and a few of those guys came over here to answer primarily comic questions, how they would get on? I think the thing I don't like about the quiz is the format of having to read the qestions and four possible answers. That's really down to my poor eyesight, mind you. I think Drowsimus is coming again this year, so if Ken can make it, I'm willing to step aside to give the team a better chance. I'll still be there cheering you all on with pom-poms! - Tony

I didn't do so well on that quiz either.
